As a lifetime older City fan now viewing games from the relative tranquility of Spain I certainly identify with all the aspects of Mr R Kiplings verses. My favourite verse from my favourite poem:
“If you can dream and not make dreams your master
If you can think and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same.
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools.
Or see the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop to mend them up with worn out tools.”
It strikes a chord of relevance to me anyway.
Mr Kipling may have been a City supporter.
My whole football supporting life has been ruled by "All things in moderation, including moderation".
