PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

My favourite verse from my favourite poem:
“If you can dream and not make dreams your master
If you can think and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same.
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools.
Or see the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop to mend them up with worn out tools.”
It strikes a chord of relevance to me anyway.
Mr Kipling may have been a City supporter.
As a lifetime older City fan now viewing games from the relative tranquility of Spain I certainly identify with all the aspects of Mr R Kiplings verses.

My whole football supporting life has been ruled by "All things in moderation, including moderation".

Had a conversation with some guy in Blackpool yesterday evening, noticing I had a City hat and scarf and badge on my coat, he proceeded,
Looks like You LOT have had it this season ,
Looks like it I said,
What do you put that down to,
We've got a lot of injuries this season,
Is that your excuse then,
It's fact mate I said,
What about the charges then,
I think we'll be ok I said,
There'll be fucking uproar if you get off.
Why's that
Well other teams have had points deducted ,
Why are we guilty then I said,
You must be ,they don't charge you for nothing ,
Have you not heard of Innocent till proved guilty, I said
I walked away at that point.

Paul Lakes equaliser in the FA Cup 1988 still irks them

A lot of opposition fans are certain that our drop off this season, and everything else that happens, is down to the charges.

Video comes out of Pep reacting to a fan after the cup final in May - he's lost the head as he knows the hearing isn't going well

I just don't talk to people i don't know anymore about football. Its literally just not worth it as non City fans are just generally bellends when it comes to holding a conversation about City. As soon as you mention to anyone these days that you're a City fan, it only goes one way.

this is the shit i get from everyone daily. Obviously City are guilty because the premier league wouldn't charge us if we were innocent.
did it ever occur to them that they may have charged us to justify an unnecessary four year investigation at massive cost and to not make them look any more foolish than they already do?

It’s especially hilarious when, just before they spout the “can’t be innocent if you’ve been charged” bollocks, they spend 15 minutes bemoaning the fact that the PL and the PL bosses are a load of useless incompetent wankers who couldn’t organise the proverbial in a brewery, and definitely have an agenda against their team! (Arsenal fans are particularly guilty in this regard).

Similar to every fan and journalist telling everyone how useless and corrupt UEFA is other than when charging City, at which point they turn into bastions of light and fairness and should be deemed competent, if only on that one issue….

simple really for me.

United fan says its, I call them bitter and been found guilty of match fixing
Liverpool, same as above but also had teams banned out of europe. Still should be banned like they orginally were
Chelsea/Forest - both been found guilty of stuff they have done on/off the pitch

Always good to shut htem up

I had that yesterday re pep. Explained the video was after last years fa cup final.

The media are a bunch of malicious cunts.

Pep is having a tough time. You can see how much he cares.

Our drop in form is nothing to do with charges. Makes a convenient story to sell fabricated untruths.

Is this the 15 second clip of a suited Guardiola reacting and being ushered into a hotel?

I wondered where that had come from.

Just asked CHATGP if Manchester City were guilty.

As of my last update in 2023, Manchester City has been involved in a legal dispute regarding alleged financial misconduct. The Premier League charged the club with over 100 breaches of its financial regulations, spanning from the 2009-2010 season to the present. These charges relate to issues such as failing to provide accurate financial information, inflating sponsorship deals, and potentially circumventing Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.
However, it's important to note that, as of the most recent updates, Manchester City has denied all wrongdoing and maintains that they have complied with all rules and regulations. The case was handed over to an independent commission in 2023, which will make a judgment on the matter. The process could take time, and no formal conclusion has been reached as of now.
If you’re asking about a verdict or further developments, I recommend checking the latest news for updates, as the legal process is ongoing. As for whether Manchester City is guilty, that will ultimately depend on the findings of the independent commission, which has yet to issue a ruling.
