General / Mental Health Support Thread

I go to guys in london next week and i booked the train a while ago but i am not strong enough and i have complete sensory over load of noise and lights still and cant walk in a straight line. My itu consultant says i must go given the anaphlaxis and cardiac arrest following the iv penicillin, he told me at the same time you were given oral morphine and i must get tested to see if it played any part in things

i have got so anxious about going alone, i got some info from guys today and it mentioned hospital transport, i thought cant hurt to ask and they said yes ,so i am being collected from home and brought back , thank you nhs !
Best wishes, Kaz. Hope the day goes well.

Back at James Cook hospital in the morning for more bloods and iron - really need them to find and treat the source not the bloody symptoms
The MRI body scans can sometimes help diagnose the problem if you haven’t had one I’d insist on a CT scan with the intravenous contrast dye or just a simple CT scan/x-ray, all those colonoscopies and blood tests don’t seem to be working.

Had a routine ECG yesterday and my heart was too SLOW. I'm too chilled. 48 bpm or something. Might be due to the fact that I took my daily beta blocker about an hour before. Got to go for more tests now though..

thank you lovely, really long day 10am to 9pm and i needed a wheelchair as i couldnt stand up due to the motion sickness from the 2 and half hour trip up, same back, wheeled around by staff that shouldnt be doing it really and i hate having to use one

Massive reaction to the penicillin that caused all this drama as expected and some of the others in the penicillin family, i can never have it in any form at all., Had such a big reaction when she injected it under the skin in the second part of the testing that i had to stay behind till the antihitamines she gave me worked and my bp checked twice

As always all the staff went over and above for me . The system is creaking and letting them down , the computer system in transport lounge went down and i was waiting for four hours till my car could be ordered, there was a shift changed and the new guy went old school with pen and paper and wrote down all our details and hit the phones manually getting everyone on their way

I didnt learn much that i didnt know already but she said they need to test and put on my notes the severity of the reactions. That is my longest trip , a couple of more local appointments toncome next week then i might be able to rest I am beyond knackered ! I want to be able to stop thinking about what happened and be able to look foward . My mental health is really suffering now

Much love xx

What a long day Kaz. Very tiring but they need to get to the bottom of it all of course.
My experience of anaphylaxis was under the anaesthetic during my bypass so I know a little of what you are going through.
You’re right about the system creaking but like you I can’t fault the treatment I have received. The medical staff do their best within the circumstances.
Lots of love and I hope everything goes more smoothly for you now.
Have you got your emergency bracelet thing in case of an accident?

Aniexty and stress through the roof last 2 days. Supposed to go to oasis tribute act tonight in local theatre and sacked it off as literally can't be bothered. I know I'll probably regret it but night in front of crap TV for me

What is up lovely ?

Statins...my mum is on them and is telling me how bad they make her feel? Is that common?
I've been on them for few months now - not sure they're helping. I'm reducing my intake as my mental health is veering from suicidal ideas to moments of clarity and enjoyment. Have had work issues regards disciplinary action, grievances and each time it blows over a new charge appears. Nothing serious but it drains you.

Work mainly but also family stuff, missus just had scare re breast cancer. Couple pre cancerous lumps removed, various other bits and pieces, her mother in care home with Parkinson's dementia, her father being very stubborn and not listening to advice from her (us)

You and your missus need a holiday. Something to look forward to.

Got one booked to Miami and Boston in 4 weeks. Had to cancel recent long weekend to Edinburgh due to her father (aged 90) being ill. We've cancelled various trips over the last 2 or 3 years due to him being ill. We've asked will he go in care home that the mother is in for 2 weeks while we are away as they offer temporary respite care. He's refused so now trying to convince him to get his carers come more often. At moment every other day and we've asked will he agree to every day or even twice some days.

Hope that gets sorted, mate....and you get off on your holidays.
All these problems we have to deal with getting older. We bring up our kids, worrying about them all the time, and when they grow older we have to do the same with our parents. Dementia is the worst of it all. It affects all those close to the person. Horrible illness.
