PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I agree, and have always agreed on that.

My issue here is not with the belief that we have won. It is with this wild conspiracy that we know or have known the verdict handed out in sectet, for months.
What I don't get is this.

The same people that believe we have known the winning verdict for months, based on our apparent demeanour of general confidence, implied supposed aggression towards and tone of disdain of the PL - also then believe that we would do the PL such a big favour of courtesy, to sit on this for months!

Willingly allowing them time to get their shit together for an announcement that is least damaging to them, meanwhile ourselves enduring months of damaging speculation and innuendo surrounding the club, fans, and the team, at a time when we were fighting to save our season. Despite... the very same apparent demeanour of general confidence, implied supposed aggression towards and tone of disdain of the PL.

Aye, ok guys, makes total sense!
Don't think anybody doubts Khaldoon when he tells us we haven't had the final ruling, not landed on the doormat yet. Don't think anybody should doubt that we won either or that the PL will seek to delay the publication as long as they can by seeking further clarification etc.

Masters does. If they lose, he's gone. The fact he seemed happy and cheery enough doesn't suggest to me that they've won, but it would be a "soft signal" on here had he seemed bleak or not attended. It just suggests to me that neither the City or the PL know the outcome and we're still in that post boxing fight stage where both competitors claim victory before the decision.
Is he gone tho? Did he go after the APT case? Did he go after they lost to leicester? Did he go after it was proven that he granted more exemptions to the rags than anyone else? Did he go after the independent regulatory commission told him he didnt know what he was doing? Any single one of those events would have caused a competent ceo to leave but he hasnt gone because he is nothing more than a patsy, he is in a job he was fourth choice for and has failed at every turn, he has no spine or dignity and will go when he is told to go not before and even then it will be with a massive payout.

Thanks for explaining how the media works to me.

The 28 years I’ve been working in PR and Marketing, including 4 years in the Deputy Prime Minister’s Press Office in Whitehall, now all makes sense.
Ive bet you have some tales to tell?

You get the definite feeling that even before they pressed charges fully they knew that they were going to come out of this badly, they were IMHO forced to do this by the red cartel because the red cartel threatened them with a breakaway league or some other nonsense.

When it all comes out I want to know who drove this, what meetings took place with the cartel and how far can we sue them to death so their clubs stop existing.

The PLs investigation opened up the same time when Uefa hit City with a two year Champions league ban back in February 2020. Their sanctions were then put in the bin a few more months later in July following the CAS hearing. The Premier League could have concluded and closed the investigation then, however someone must have got in their ear and told them to give it a go through English Law.

I keep saying this that the major movers back in the early 1990s for the formation of the PL were United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Everton. United got their advantage from the league’s inception through their IPO and the huge amounts of extra tv money. Alan Sugar owned Spurs at the time and he got very rich selling his Amstrad satellite boxes, Sky TV got in on it taking a traditionally free to watch sport onto pay to watch through Sky Sports. All of these stakeholders have a vested interest in the Premier League. It’s their league and they believe they should dictate to the other clubs what happens with it. Mansour comes along and upsets the apple cart and they don’t like it one bit.

There’s a reason United and Spurs were desperate to win that final the other week. They are two of the most in the red clubs in world football. They’ve got themselves into that situation living beyond their means trying to chase City. The bullshit charges were an open goal to try and find something to get City out of the way as we have in their eyes no right to be there taking away what they think should always be theirs. If they had something on City why are we still in a process nearly 5 years after CAS concluded on the same points of contention. Why have they had to add Mancini’s wages and player image rights when one had nothing to do with psr and the other was in the remit of Uefa to go after but they didn’t choose to? Desperate stuff from the Premier League by looks of it.

I'm also cautious in thinking that there's any result known yet. Sure there's plenty soft signals but Masters laughing and joking away at Anfield last week might be seen as a soft signal for those who want us ruined.

My opinion is that both sides are confident. In absence of any concrete information we just simply don't know.
Maybe laughing and joking with his soon to be employers possibly taking up a role with the dippers after he is canned by the premier league?

Makes you wonder if that was the cartels secondary aim? Primary win beat city in court. Secondary aim have us destroy the prem. and third drag us through the mud for as long as possible.

Just perhaps, if we’ve won we are looking to work with the prem on the exit of all this to clean house and have a more impartial team running things. And aided with the new watchdog.

All that said it would be nice to expose masters and any corruption linked between him and the yank cartel

I'd agree with this, except I think what you have as third, has always been their main aim. Slow us, cost us money, make us less attractive to investors, and potential signings and fans.

Obviously they'd love to win, but that would be a bonus for them.

Which is why if we do win we need to wrestle back the initiative and point figures, with proof.

Someone's please do a banner that just says "Now investigate the rest". That's what I believe we should push for after the outcome.

He knows his place after all he got his orders from the red 3 who vetted him.
Assured of a big payoff if his valuable services are eventually dispensed with. Until then it's carry on regardless.

When he’s canned by the PL he will be unemployable in the game especially if some of the shenanigans come out in the aftermath.

I don't believe the club, or anyone else outside the panel, knows the outcome.

I do believe that, if the PL win, rival clubs will do everything they can to get us wiped off the face of football.

But, if we win, I don't believe it serves our long-term interest to inflict as much damage on the PL as we could, if we chose to. The alternative to the PL is the ESL and, although we already, virtually, have that, this version is better than the version united, liverpool and arsenal (and other clubs around Europe) wanted. We destroy the PL, we give the power back to the people we least want to give it to.

My point being, that, once the result is known, I think that, if we have won, there will be some collaboration between the club and the PL over timing and optics. If they have won, it will get nasty.

Good post.

If City have won there is an advantage for us working together with the PL on optics.

If the messages are aligned it will be far more effective - ie, both sides are unequivocal that City have done no wrong, but both sides also accept the process has been an opportunity to bring clarity for the club and the league.

This means there is less oxygen for those people who will seize any opportunity to still say we’re guilty in the event we’re cleared (see the still-peddled time barred bullshit from CAS).

Also see the farcical competing narratives of who won following APT1.

City don’t want that this time because the immediate aftermath of the verdict will cast the dye. It might be uncomfortable for many of us, but drawing a line and working together does make a lot of sense in this respect.

Tell her she’s a useless cretin.

Not sure the relationship with the PL is particularly cordial at the moment. The club has openly accused them of acting illegally, imprudently and against the interest of the league as a result of the APT case. They have recently accused the PL of putting in place rules that favour certain clubs.

If the club ever agreed to delay publication of the award as a favour to the PL, there would have to be a pretty serious gesture from the PL back to the club. Like a completely new executive structure and board.

Unlikely to happen imho, but what do I know?

I think it will be a case of the ‘bad apples’ will be gone & the premier league & City make up. Masters well probably wash up at the EFL like the last **** that tried & failed.

If we win, we don't want to complain about the PL and destroy it. We need to be only be complaining about the forensic analysis of our accounts and workings, and that other clubs are not examined to the same extent.

We need to be shouting that we are the most examined club ever, with nothing wrong found, and that other clubs have not been looked at.

We need to change the narrative so that questions start being asked of other clubs.

The media are in the pockets of other clubs. We are not going to change that.
