That's a healthy approach, fella. If you want to increase the distance or intensity, the gradual approach is definitely the best. Also, factor in recovery weeks so that your bodily systems can make adaptations and you can recover from the hard work.I'm done a few 10k races now and really enjoying it. I have a half marathon booked next year and doing 13k runs now with plenty still in the tank but don't want to push it too hard.
Are you too soft to go out running in the storm?

Don’t mind running in the rain if it’s summer, but wind is just the worst. So many runs I do it feels like whichever direction I’m running there’s a force 10 gale in my face.Just ran home from work and I know we’ve not got it bad by any stretch but it’s hard work running into a headwind.
Got drenched this morning, glad I’ve showers and fresh clothes in work!
Lunchtime runs are definitely not soft! Welcome to the hard gang.Just managed to squeeze a 5k in on my lunch before the brunt of the weather hit, but still got absolutely soaked and felt like I was running in a constant headwind
Tbf, being a fairly new runner, I've not really ran in autumn/winter season, so at least its preparing me for the next few months!
But you did it! Tough guy.71 Foc back here…….windy as f**k today….5K 36 minutes, not a happy chappy, worst performance to date….
I used to love running or cycling to work when I could...Just ran home from work and I know we’ve not got it bad by any stretch but it’s hard work running into a headwind.
