PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I’m just surprised he engaged in any sort of conversation about this huge case.

Obviously just my view. It’s ok for you & others not to be bothered or surprised - so it’s ok for me to feel the opposite (isn’t?)

I didn't want to have to reveal this, but Paladin's got some dirt on him.

Funny how everyone is convinced around an international break announcement,

Not sure why this has become a thing.

When the charges were announced it wasn't on an international break.

Plus, decision announcements on cases for other teams have been done randomly, and not during any break.

Today's distraction while we wait for the verdict is a cracker.
We had Rikki two weeks ago, Nikki last week, and now Aladdin has come out of his cave to provide some amusement and perk the thread up a bit.

I wonder who it'll be next week? I'm going for an internal "memo leak" from City, given what we've seen today it should be easy enough to doctor one of those.

FWIW the email looks absolutely genuine to me. Would be a very creative mock up with many little details correct. And why would anyone do that anyway.
Because everyone or nearly everyone is bored shitless waiting for the outcome.
This case is probably older than some on heres kids or grandkids, it is absolutely ridiculous.

Oh it was an off topic question, answer-fair enough.
Perfectly understandable you interpreted that way mate. Think if that email is from Pannick (and for a number of reasons I’d be amazed it was) he’s stayed the right side of the line, although I still question his judgement in sending it. I also reckon most of his emails from unknown sources will be filtered through his clerks. No one wants their working day being interrupted by randoms asking how your case is progressing.

The ‘regulated by the BSB’ and the usual boilerplate bit about confidentiality/privileged info etc.. part suggests it might be but the sign off seems a little basic and thin in detail and the absence of any reference to Legal 500/Chambers and Partners within it seems a bit odd, yet LinkedIn is in there. Most chambers have a boilerplate email sign off which is far more detailed than that. Plus no direct dial to his clerk seems odd.

Wouldn’t expect him to put his mobile on there although many silks do.

Edit: plus the LP thing is a bit weird. It means his email address must be lordpannick@… which seems like a ridiculously pompous email address to have and meant he would have changed it when he was made a Lord -although tbf some people do add KC at the end of their email address when they take silk, although I think it looks wanky personally

Agreed, why would anyone completely make something up just to get some attention on the internet? Doesn't seem feasible. I'm all-in on this one, despite Rikki letting me down.

I notice he doesn't say anything about being confident about the outcome. Clearly the PL have won.

@Nicholas van Whatsisface - everyone who doubted you owes you an apology.

Funny you should mention that - my PM feed isn’t showing anything just yet, but I’m sure that’s simply down to people taking a bit of time to find the right wording before sending them over.

i've waited over 2hours but finally he replied to my email...

i'd asked him if he was sure he knew what he was on about,
because i definitely saw the 115 petit taxi yesterday.

he replied that it was me that didn't know what i was on about,
because 115 is the incorrect number.

i didn't even get a "regards".

this is all becoming more confusing by the day.
