Five in a row, if you count the APT settlement.Too late. We've already won everything and done four in a row.

True — the league has to act when suspicions arise to maintain its credibility with the other members and to protect the institution. At the same time, it can’t just pursue cases unless it genuinely believes it can win them, or use the disciplinary process as a weapon.Setting aside the possibility of undue influence being exerted by other members of the league, I don't think it much of a reach to think that those at the league who made the decision to pursue the case against City considered factors beyond simply winning or losing the case in making the decision. It would be much harder to believe that they didn't, in my experience in corporate litigation for the last 25+ years.
It's Monday, the start of another week of fuck all
Of course it can.True — the league has to act when suspicions arise to maintain its credibility with the other members and to protect the institution. At the same time, it can’t just pursue cases unless it genuinely believes it can win them, or use the disciplinary process as a weapon.
"Genuinely" as you put it, is a very broad standard with a ton of leeway.True — the league has to act when suspicions arise to maintain its credibility with the other members and to protect the institution. ‘Our’Thanks — the journey is the destination. Unfortunately, the questions still remain as to why the Premier League has not accepted that our sponsors are not related parties, and why they believe they can prove that we acted in bad faith.
Careful. You don't want to be accused of being anti-semantic.Semantics.
Yes, but if Section 1 is just a re-run of UEFA’s failed Football Leaks case with substantially the same evidence that failed at CAS, it’s hard to see how that would qualify as acting in good faith — or how the League could genuinely believe it can win."Genuinely" as you put it, is a very broad standard with a ton of leeway.
And who is going to hold them accountable if they don't act in good faith?Yes, but if Section 1 is just a re-run of UEFA’s failed Football Leaks case with substantially the same evidence that failed at CAS, it’s hard to see how that would qualify as acting in good faith — or how the League could genuinely believe it can win.
You painted a vivid picture. If you see Harris this week, give him a pasting for me (do you see what I did there)
Yep.If you see Harris this week, give him a pasting for me (do you see what I did there)
thanks PB for your first-hand angle on that. It's an interesting story, which I've told before. The club decided to modify its approach to the media and built closer relationships with a few serious journalists. Harris, as Mail on Sunday sports editor and being pretty decent on the financial side of things, was one of those. I used to share stuff with him and him with me, very amicably.
But for some reason he underwent a complete volte face and turned on the club, me and others. It was so bad that at one point a few of us were seriously looking at a private prosecution for harassment. Gary James was another person he was extremely abusive to. This was around 2019-2020 and was very stressful for all involved. I know that his wife became ill (and has since sadly died), he'd been ditched by the Mail and I suspect he was having a difficult time. Possibly that all contributed but there may be a more sinister reason.
Delaney I think, was another one. But you could actually plot his change of tone to the week between winning the league at Brighton in 2019 and the FA Cup Final against Watford. And of course it was as the post-match Final press conference that Rob Harris asked his shocking question to Pep about under-the-table payments. I was told by a senior source at the club that it was a coordinated campaign by some clubs and that there was a "geopolitical element".
Khaldoon's comment of something like "We know what they're saying about us" definitely adds fuel to that particular fire.
What sort of things happened that weee harassing you ? Perhaps I should know this but was this connected to your work or more being nasty online. I know he blocs people and sometimes gets a bit nasty but I did think he was that bad he blocked me on Twitter for posting criticisms I had seen of him on this thread but he wasn’t abusive. It's an interesting story, which I've told before. What has maguire said ?Its a pretty vague statement from Maguire & is open to interpretation. After the way that Delaney & is ilk went after Rabin on twitter, surely if he KM had seen confidental documents that they wouldn't have been leaked by the cartel controlled media
You’re right — we won’t take the Premier League to the High Court. We’ll move on. No one in the League will officially back us, although some clubs will be very unhappy with the PL for having to foot the legal bills. And who is going to hold them accountable if they don't act in good faith?
If City were to bring some sort of claim that this wasn't done in good faith, given the consensus in the court of public opinion in the pundit class, it would just look like sour grapes. And I don't know who is going to stand up for City wihtin the league.
Something about seeing a document not in the public domain, months agoWhat has maguire said ?
The bold part is some statement. A lot of posters want to play the antagonist. Go against the grain, seed arguments to gain interactions especially on this thread where emotions run high. Normally find it on the socials. You’re right — we won’t take the Premier League to the High Court. We’ll move on. But the bottom line is this: in a membership organisation, the governing body should act neutrally, consistently, in good faith, and strictly in accordance with its own rules.
Maybe we need an Independent Football Regulator.
Not sure why people still bother replying to that twat tbh.HE hasn't, but if you wish to push it as fact, fair enough.
I've always believed in free speech but also in saying nothing unless I am certain. There is no news, and we will know soon enough when there is news because it won't be in the possession of one self-appointed spokesperson on football finance. It will come from the club and from the Premier League. Anything else is a cock named Poppy.
