I don't think Sterling and his agent have covered themselves in glory here, that's for sure, but Liverpool aren't as blameless as some believe.
In some ways, it reminds of the Tevez saga when I and countless others condemned Tevez to high heaven after the Munich fiasco. In hindsight, I can now see an awful lack of communication culminating in a explosion of controversy. After which, Tevez spat his dummy out and forever tainted his image, but the root cause was a calamity of errors (some may still disagree, and strongly!).

Sterling's been publicly castigated by countless players who on the one hand claim to have no inside information, but have no reservation in assuming Sterling and his agent are entirely to blame. Sterling's right to reply is fairly limited without permission from Liverpool, or he breaks their rules again, and conducts an unsanctioned interview. He can't really win on that score can he?

My personal view is that he's a bit of a prat and success has gone to his head. What he does in private is his own business (largely), but he's been careless / naive in allowing people to video his antics, all the while being well aware that footage of his antics could be used by the media against him. I don't know him personally, or his mental state, so there could be plenty of mitigating circumstances for him, but his public image is nosediving, which should be a concern to him. A new club, and staying out of the negative limelight will do him a world of good and repair his image, but that will take a little effort on his part.

As for Liverpool? they bought in a young talented prospect and told the world he was a potential world beater. He's won nothing with Liverpool and now faces an offer from another club who have had more recent success, and arguably offer increased chances of trophies for him, not to mention more money, and a change of environment. Is it really so far fetched to believe Sterling might want to move?
Liverpool's signings of late haven't suggested a real drive to get back in the top 4, let alone mount a serious title challenge. Yes, they came an impressive second the season before last, but that surprised everybody, Liverpool included.

Then we come to Liverpool's price tag. It's high, and many would argue excessively so. Liverpool stand to make a very handsome profit on him, but are holding out for more - which potentially prevents Sterling from moving on. They are legally at liberty to do so, but it doesn't bode well for any young player considering Anfield as a destination. If things don't work out, you might find yourself trapped there.

Seriously you're complaining about a home team's fans booing an away team who have possession of the ball.

Wow.

if you ever master europe and play in the latter stages of the European cup you will find that is quite a common tactic by home fans.
With your rich history and vast knowledge of football like all Liverpol fans can you tell me which team first won a European trophy and also first won the FA Cup,was it Liverpool or no history Manchester city?

Ward wasnt Odemwingie's agent.

But it's funny how in recent months a lot of people have made out that he was.

I wonder why?
Maybe because he was
No mention of the bricked coaches I see? As to mastering Europe, Champions League n all that, one day Rodney, one day (and as they say, you've got to be in it to fucking win it, la')
The bit that caught my eye was him complaining about Home fans booing his team for 90 mins.

Seriously did that really constitute something to be in the same ball park as bricking buses.

I seen us Mastering Europe, great days.

With your financial outlay maybe your great days are around the corner.

Because Milner and his agent didn't act in an unprofessional manner like Sterling and Ward. You can't compare the two. The difference is night and day.

You keep saying this but at the end of the day Sterling reacted to briefings that his own manager was giving to the press which were portraying Sterling as a money grabbing t**t so he gave an interview to give his side of the story

Sterling and his agent were getting pelters both from inside Anfield and from all those hanger-ons you know the one's Carragher Barnes, Houghton, Thompson, McManaman etc who were all toeing the party line of nice kid poorly advised and so Ward reacted what would you have done

You can compare the two City acted with quiet class and dignity as did Milner, Liverpool shouted their mouth off and so did Sterling and Ward

Come on mate,if you want to be taken seriously, don't try and justify your fans behaviour that day ffs.

I've watched hundreds of Premier league games over the years. i have seen fans booing one of their ex-players or booing generally for a minute or so after a controversial decision or booing someone who has committed a bad tackle. But I have never once see an opposing team booed in unison from the outset for an elongated period of time. But even that pales with the classlessness of bricking the team coach. You are better off just accepting that rather than attempting to defend the undefendable.

Last Derby at Maine Rd?

You still here? Haven't you got a Europe league campaign to be planning?

I kinda hope we get him for 2m next year and fuck Henry the yank ****.

He knows as much about football as I do about laying eggs.

I'm getting the feeling that might well be the way it plays out.

We made a bid, had it rejected, made a second bid, had it rejected and for all Henry or anyone else knows may have moved on.

It would actually be fucking funny if we signed Wiltshire, or Barkley and didn't go back for Sterling this Summer.

Didn't Soriano say something similar happened when he was at Barcelona and Juventus were playing silly buggers?

I have no problem with him wanting to play for a team that is challenging for trophies even though at 20 he's go so many years left in him to achieve his aims. However, the way him and his agent have gone about this is absolutely embarrassing and totally unprofessional. I don't expect many city fans to agree though
Yeah, same with Milner but cest la vie.In fact he took a step down for money whilst going to a lesser team !

Lallana leaving Southampton wasn't acrimonious so lets not go there. Lovren's behaviour was totally unacceptable and unprofessional. Listen, I am not one of these fans that is be biased towards my team if I think a players has been unprofessional. I will tell it as it is. I just wish fans on here would take of their city hat and look at things from the outside. Sterling has been badly advised and has to accept responsibility for some for the shit thats happened. I just don't buy this Sterling is a victim that folks on here are claiming. What I also find laughable and embarrassing is how many on here were waxing lyrical about Wards behaviour too a few weeks back. Surely you must have some concerns about him. I am pretty sure clubs will think twice about doing business with Ward and to. At least Berahino has seen sense and ditched him.

I'll tell it as it is.

The only club's fan in English football ever convicted of manslaughter have now decided to hurl racist abuse and physical threats of violence towards a 20 year old with a young family for the heinous crime of wanting to leave. In addition to this, the management has consistently aired their laundry in public creating a situation where this young boy felt that he needed to fight back upon.

Yes, he was naive. He shouldn't have answered his critics in the press in that BBC interview but none of it would be needed if you fucking murdering cunts had an ounce of class between the lot of you and didn't want to tell the world all about his contract situation and paint him as a mercenary because he wants to leave and win things, which you lot have the same chance as Crystal Palace as doing.

He's now taking a step up in terms of his ability to win trophies. And you pricks hate it so much that you are now a selling club that your entire media department has driven this poor lad to illness and anxiety.

I don't give a shit how much we buy him for. Because we're rich as fuck and I'd pay £50m just to watch him score at Anfield whilst you lot cry your fake crocodile tears with your manufactured and patented form of grief worship.

He'll be a great player and that's why he needs to leave you pricks who are struggling to even approach average.

Until that day I have never had a problem with Liverpool as a club or their support.....an enemy of my enemy etc.

After the way in which they treated us after we were nothing but respectful changed my view of LFC and fans.

Bono once sang "you glorify the past, when the future dries up".

Horrible club and support who can talk about all those European and domestic titles all they like. They will never come again.

Liverpool fans not realising where they now sit in the football hierarchy shocker! Still trying to convince themselves they are a great club, but the game is up there are new kids in town, and you will continue to loose all your best players because beleive it or not, players don't want to play for your history or your great scouse humour (although they have as many Scandinavians supporting them as people from Liverpool but they all fit the stereotypical scouse mindset) nor do they want to play for that idiot of a manager who lets not forget was goading Southampton last season about nicking their players

Just get used to it, you have had your day

Oh, and welcome to Bluemoon. Please enjoy your stay

Lol quality, know you place in the food chain.

the part that amuses me most is how the candle-lighters will claim victory after their club receives a large fee for Sterling.
they will then expect their shithouse of a club to spend the fee on new players without realizing that they already have spent it. i wonder how much celebrating they will feel like doing when Aguero and Silva put young Mr. Sterling to work tearing the dippers a new arsehole on November 21?
