Neymar

Being reported that the 'Manchester giants' will be battling his signature out to the tune of 140m.The lure of playing alongside Lingaard, and under the stewardship of a defensive minded crackpot, might just sway him..........

I hate him.
If he came to the PL he wouldn't know what hit him. Defenders like Huth would have great joy in smashing him to bits and watching him rolling over and over and over.
He would be a target for every boo boy of every team.

Let utd have him and watch it go pear shaped.

Be careful! A mate of mine who knows a Brazilian says Neymar grew up fantasizing about playing in the same team as Felaini in front of the Stretford end (third tier closed) at the theatre of dreams. Apparently he went to see his local club proudly wearing a yellow and green scarf, and the first words he said as a baby were "Bobby Charlton".

In terms of resonance and a world wide commercial impact, a no-brain slam dunk.

However, he would probably have a similar impact to Robinho on the field and for that money, would rather use the cash equivalent for two world-class midfielders.

I don't think we can play down that Manchester would be too small for someone like him and the weather would eventually get the better of his mindset, especially if you know your talent is such, there would always be an option to be somewhere else which ticks more boxes and can still earn phenomenal money?

Someone like Aguero is a very special person, possibly shaped by a much less laid-back approach to life in Argentina.

Some of the factors above definitely played a part in Balotelli's departure, and impacted his mental approach.

Good lord what have you people been watching to compare Neymar to Robinho

The only comparison which can be made at present is Robinho playing in both leagues, and how quickly life in Manchester proved too difficult.

Robinho was a top player, with a huge reputation, but the veneer wasn't exactly the sheen we thought it would be.

I can't believe I'm seeing the old bollocks about him not being able to handle the PL, he's a world class player and only behind Messi and Suarez imo.

I read recently that Guillem Balague (Always sceptical about what he says) said that Barca cannot keep that amazing trio together for a sustained period, which would make sense as they all must cost a fortune single-handedly. I get the impression that Neymar may not be too happy playing second/third fiddle to Messi and Suarez as well.

Please read it again. It's about handling living in Manchester/England. All that will impact any player, regardless of talent.

Ask Di Maria. Ask Robinho.

But Robinho had Hughes as manager and Di Maria had LVG as his. Surely having someone like Pep as our manager would help Neymar become an even better player, with us?

Except Robinho was never a top player in Europe. Neymar, on the other hand, has dominated

Di Maria was handled all wrong by van Gaal, played at striker and on the right at times. It also didn't help that van Gaal's football was far too slow to utilize Di Maria's strengths. I understand he may have not settled down in England/Manchester as well as others

You don't think he gets hit hard in Spain? He does a lot and nobody can stop him

Rather idiotic logic on your part. He's going to be the best in the world very shortly

And for that reason you wounder wether it would make more sense going for someone like Alexis Sanchez. He already knows life in England, what is expected of him by Pep and would naturally slot in on the right of a front 3 alongside Kun and Sterling on the left. That could allow Kev, Silva, and Nasri to play centrally in front of a pivot shielding the defence.

If the rags as well as us are in for him it will be interesting to see which way he jumps.

The chances are as a kid he'll have never heard of us ( ask a random kids about teams in S America you'll do well to get 4, Boca, River plate, Santos & Flumeense perhaps ) but will have been fed raggy love by the media.

He'll get paid a fortune at either club but is probably so rich that apart from greed the money shouldn't matter.

Will he want to play for a 'once' allegedly great club now struggling where he could either become the figurehead of their return to the top or pick up the cash and not be arsed.

Or join us and be part of history in the making or pick up the cash and not be arsed.

I do think tolmie has a point, he seems lightweight, its one thing being shoved, ankle tapped in Spain when Barca have all the refs on-side, its another being launched by Shawcross, Huth,A & E etc with no protection at City.

Really there is someone who does not accept this player? Crazy!

Neymar is better than Cristiano Ronaldo at the moment.
