It's Quiet 18 - Wanna ring the bell?

On the brilliant Wharton video from Jonas -This was my contribution in early July: My Blackburn supporting mate kept telling me to get City interested because the lad has class. He has been supporting the Rovers for over 50 years. So I watched Wharton playing for the exciting Palace side. Lad...

    Adam Wharton

A word in favour of Wharton. My Blackburn supporting mate kept telling me to get City interested because the lad has class. He has been supporting the Rovers for over 50 years. So I watched Wharton playing for the exciting Palace side. Lad has good positional sense, is a reliable hub for his...

Premier League Games 2/3/4/5/6/ May '24

Great game to watch Crystal Palace are so impressive. Somewhat under the radar - Alan Wharton + Pep would be an astounding combination. A modest defending midfielder with tight control, excellent positional sense, a defence-splitting passer and forever upright and alert.

    Players who might improve us

Eberechi Eze Watched Sky highlights of Crystal Palace vs West Ham and vs Newcastle. Very impressed with this guy. Speedy, alert, receives passes like Mahrez and spreads them like David Silva. Takes an excellent corner, fast dribbler and shoots with accuracy. Gets out of tight crowded situations...

    Francis Lee RIP

You were a winger Franny, just a winger. Then some manager put you at centre forward. I remember thinking what a silly decision that was because you were too small. On that wintry Wednesday night, in the cup, you ran Newcastle ragged. I think we won 1-0, you scored that one goal and you were...

    Paris Saint-Germain (A) - CL - Tue 28 Sep 20:00 | Pre-Match Thread

No wish to interrupt this joyous post but stuck in Cyprus. Looking for a friendly pub to watch the world's best ever forward line against the humble blues. Sympathetic pub in Pathos, anyone?

    Ballet On Ice

No team had floodlights in the Bury Sunday School league, so we kicked off early at 2.00 pm. On this cold day our game was called off at 1.30 and our manager asked 'anyone fancy going to Maine Road to see how Colin Bell is playing?' Loved it, and have been a fan ever since.

Why Are We So Much Better Than Last Year?

Suggest point 5 above all else. That massive summer 'shakeout' of players has left a smaller squad on the training pitch so each individual gets more coaching and also a stronger comradery develops.

    Ballet on ice .

How odd that you should mention this game. My game that day, in the Bury Sunday School League, had been called off because of a frozen/ snowy pitch. Having no floodlights we always kicked off winter games at 2.00 pm. So our kind manager offered to give a few of us a lift to Maine Road so we...

    City target Bilbao's Ander Herrera

It looks as though Bilbao and all the other Spanish teams may lose a lot of their TV revenue next year. In last week's Daily Telegraph, the Business section ran an article about the Spanish recession leading to a loss of subscribers. So their TV stations are going to offer a lot less for next...

    Dzeko [Merged]

Strongly agree with kalouk. Yes, we are misusing Dzeko's talent, and yes it is worrying that our club too often turns 'shiny new players into awful ones'. How can other clubs, like Everton, manage to do exactly the opposite? So here is a suggestion, lets make Edin into Pizzaro's apprentice...

U18 John Guidetti: "I need to play" (Upd: Burnley on loan)

Re: U18 John Guidetti: "I need to play" (Upd: Res' hattrick) The two centre halves at Turf Moor were Ben Mee, who played very well, and ......... Reece Wabara. Reece was confident and very quick to the ball, he broke no end of attacks up. I'm guessing that he will be John's mate.

U18 John Guidetti: "I need to play" (Upd: Burnley on loan)

Re: U18 John Guidetti: "I need to play" (Upd: Res' hattrick) Evening all. Went to Turf Moor last night and thought you would like a few comments about young John. His first two goals in the first half were total class, you could tell that because the Burnley crowd went silent, perhaps even...
