Why I'm giving up on football, City and Bluemoon

So this is my last post. 55 years after my first match seeing City. 10 years a season ticket holder 1985 to 1995 until work and family took me too far away. I was there in 2012 and was there for that Tuart goal. Been to many but not all recent cup finals. I have been vocal about VAR, CAS and...

    Liverpool Thread - 2022/23

Just watched YouTube piece with 4 Liverpool 'watchalong' to yesterday's match. Of note was 3 of the 4 all made the same Freudian slip when Liverpool went 2-0 down saying Liverpool 2-0 up .... A simple mistake but to all make the same mistake is a wired coincidence or indicative of a certain...

Not sure anything the Echo can do will match Kliperty's own mental gymnastics with 'their third goal doesn't count' WTF!

So, Leicester write off 130 debpt paid off by owner (for a second time) and Chelsea wipe oo 1.5bn debt to Abromovich.... Why can't our owners give us a huge loan and then wipe it off???

    VAR thread 2022/23

The rags one didn't go to VAR.. Most decisions by VAR never get to the point of discussing with Ref. Most made on hoof.

    VAR thread 2022/23

How does miked up work if VAR don't even review? Will they only broadcast discussions once VAR needs to discuss with ref? What about all those quick decisions that never get communicated back in the first place? This will make little difference.

    VAR thread 2022/23

The media being complicit is why after match interviews is not the Panacea some claim. The media will choose which incidents to interrogate. Gives the media even more power in shaping the narrative and protecting the product.

    VAR thread 2022/23

Do you attend rugby matches? I do. Newcastle falcons, nearly every match. Officiating is getting worse and reviews longer and more often called upon. Articles has also shown umpiring in cricket has become less secure. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2012/dec/03/india-england-drs-umpires-worse

    VAR thread 2022/23

I predicted the quality of officiating would decline due to VAR back in 2018. It is an unintended consequence.... None decision making hands it off feild and deflects blame... It's human nature and why VAR in the current form won't work. In addition, Webs dictat that VAR should not get overly...
