    David Silva Central Role

Silva has more goals for Spain than Fabregas, in less games. No reason why he can't score more goals for us if we get him closer to the opposition goalmouth.

    David Silva Central Role

I think we may have to simply agree to disagree on that. An outstanding centre forward when he's the main man for sure, but playing the role behind the striker in a 4-2-3-1 I'd say he's very good at best but not consistently so. That's hardly a condemnation. Loath as I am to use the term, the...

    David Silva Central Role

I completely agree that Jovetic's best position will be behind the striker, but he will drop surprisingly deep for a 'forward' and he'll link the play from midfield to attack very nicely, as any great attacking midfielder would. I think he'll be better than Tevez was in the role behind the...

Micah wants to be a Blue for life

Love both Micah and Zaba. Can't understand people who say one is significantly better than the other. They offer different qualities and are consistently reliable. Zab was amazing last season and Micah was amazing the season before. I believe we need both of them. As well as being sufficiently...

    Starting 11 next season

An in-form and injury-free Aguero is a 30 goal a season striker. Pellegrini may be the man to help bring back the Aguero of the 2011/12 season. He can play as a 2nd striker but he isn't as natural in the role. I'd much rather see Jovetic or Silva play behind Aguero.

It's quality, but the face looks more like Gareth Barry's to me. Just me then? As for Superbia In Proelio, you only need look at an official crest and see the difference between the undoubted 'a' at the end of 'Superbia' and the two disputed letters in 'Proelio'.

    David Silva Central Role

Well, Silva plays as a forward for Spain and Jovetic tends to drop very deep to be involved in build-up play. The key thing about Jovetic is that he is extremely versatile and can operate in numerous positions and systems. He has certainly tried to improve his striker instincts in the last few...

    David Silva Central Role

I like the idea of a 4-3-3 with Silva in the three forwards, the way he plays for Spain. ............................HART ZAB.........KOMPANY...NASTASIC........CLICHY .........YAYA......RODWELL....FERNANDINHO .........SILVA........AGUERO.........JOVETIC With three midfield powerhouses, any...

    The Roberto Mancini appreciation thread

You brought tears of joy, where once were tears of pain You brought genuine laughter, where once it was self deprecating You inflicted pain upon United, where once we inflicted amusement You gave us hope, where once there was only despair Thank you Roberto! You will always be in our hearts for...

    "Stupendous!"

Is there actually any more doubt in anyone's mind? Tyler clearly adds "Stupendous" on to the line he had just completed and then you can hear the vocal change as Quinn comes in afterwards. It's blatantly obvious!

    Player ratings for the season

All these eights for Tevez surprise me. He was shocking for the first half of the season. Seven at best thanks to his much-improved form over the last few months. The rest I generally agree with. Hart 7 Pantilimon 7 Zabman 9 Clichy 8 Richards 6 Maicon 5 Kolarov 6 Lescott 7 Kompany 8 Nastasic 8...

    Match of the Day

I sent a complaint in right after it finished. It was in all likelihood a waste of time but it felt good to let them know how downright disrespectful it was to use that moment to 'celebrate' the new title winners who hadn't even played a match that day. Both our excellent goals yesterday were...

    A Bully

Agree with all of the above and the importance in considering cheaper alternatives to the likes of De Rossi and Vidal. A lot depends on who stays/goes and how much we want to spend on specific positional improvements. Cavani, for example, would improve our attacking options but would the...

    A Bully

Basically what we need is an injury free Jack Rodwell. If there were any chance of luring Arturo Vidal from Juventus though, he would sort us out in central midfield. He has De Jong's defensive menace and will get a decent number of goals and assists per season from deep midfield. Immense!

    A Bully

    Arturo Vidal. That is all.

    Clichy's French snub.

I'd say primarily you pick the one who fits the system better assuming the options are both consistently reliable. We would use Kolarov more often if he were a reliable performer. We can count on Clichy for a sturdy display and he uses the ball well, which cannot be said of Kolarov, who is...

City strikers or Bayern strikers ?

In my opinion, the central midfield of Schweinsteiger and Martinez is one of the major differences between the sides. They are truly awesome. I'd put Schweinsteiger nearly up there with Pirlo and Xavi for creative influence from deep and he works tirelessly in defence as well, complimenting...

    David Silva song

I completely agree that we need a decent David Silva song that might catch on, so here's a few ideas. They are all based on songs by The Pogues, though two of them are traditional folk songs, so hoping there's a few fellow Shane MacGowan fans on here: Turkish Song Of The Damned (the chorus)...

Why is everyone obsessed with managerial stability?

Broken down to it's simplest form, the decision to sack a manager is almost like a game of blackjack. Stick or twist? In most cases where a manager's position is questioned I am in the stability camp as often an unnecessary managerial change can totally destabilise a club and it can take a...
