When he signed that contract, he was a 23 year old winger who had one prolific season in front of goal in the best team in English history, and had come off a disappointing world cup.

Since he signed that contract, he's scored more goals for us than anyone else, having his best goalscoring season last year with 31 despite the team's stuggles, become a nailed on starter and regular goalscorer for England and is widely regarded as one of the best players in his position in the world, despite what some on here would have you believe.

He's clearly a more valuable asset to us now than he was then, and with inflation to consider as well, he's absolutely right to ask for a modest pay increase. He'll get it too.

You make 'arriving in the right place at the right time to be able to 'tap' the ball in the net' sound easy. It's anything but when you are regularly playing against Premiere League/international class defenders most games.

No its not, but its something pep gave him...anything positionally can be coached and pep has previous for it. He simply needs to be MUCH more clinical in front of goal.

He's a solid player raz and nobody begrudges his £200k pw(or whatever it is), however he isnt elite and doesnt deserve elite money. If he didnt fall over his own feet, have a questionable touch, and bagged a higher percentage of the chances he gets(some laid on a plate), then fair enough.

How many minutes per miss is it?

It’d be weighted heavily in Sterling’s favour I’d imagine considering he gets considerably more minutes than those two have/do in the City side.

Looks like one of those situations where you keep them at a safe distance giving them minimal interaction to prevent a full blown partridge stalker situation.
