Signings like Haaland who are global superstars are going to increase the "brand" popularity , we are not normally a club who buy ready made superstars , we generally buy players with potential for Pep to work with.
When we were rumoured to be signing Messi a couple of seasons ago i am sure it was to sell shirts and improve the "brand" , imagine if we signed Mbappe in the summer the piss boiling would be like a 100 degree tsunami , there wouldnt be enough polyester in China to keep up with demand for shirts.

Some series on last night about scottish farmers. Anyway, they filmed the kids opening pressies on xmas day and the son opened his parcel and it was a HAALAND city shirt.

One of them interviewed had a City shirt on.

I was in the South of France a couple of weeks ago and one day I saw an elderly man holding a small child, about three or four years old, wearing full City kit,with the almost obligatory Haaland name on the back.
