I belive it was the same criteria although it didn't sell out nearly as fast. Because of this, I don't think it'll be worse for tourists than last year, but certainly on par with last year.

I think the appropriate term for these people is "twitter gimps". Some fella at work asked me why we couldn't sell out our away end at Goodison Park on Sunday. There's only so much energy I can give to this level of ignorance

It's constant, now Inter are a massively big traditional well-supported club who deserve to be in the final as opposed to ickle Citeh. Yet Inter average 30k in the league, almost half what we get every week

To clarify, it’s more the point that someone who has never been to the etihad could just get a membership and have the same chance as someone with a season ticket and a decent amount of points but not on the cup scheme. There’s thousands that missed out that would normally get a ticket. Just seems like there could have been some sort of pecking order for it. CTID

Nothing wrong with taking in an atmosphere. I think it’s bizarre that people criticise Micah. He’s brilliant on that show, definitely more entertaining than the likes of Rio and Owen on BT.

Yeah, I have to admit seven or eight years ago it was never as bad as some made it out to be but there were obvious empty seats for games. Hasn't been a problem since the exchange system came in and post-pandemic in particular the place is 98% full for every game. You can totally see why the owners are ready to pull the trigger on a new stand.

But like you say, on the Twitter pages you could claim the ground was half empty tonight and people who aren't watching and have never been to a game would be having the biggest bantz about it all in their life.

Season Ticket holders had an opportunity after cup schemers. All ST holders that wanted one should have got one unless they missed both windows. The issue was that there was no points/games attended criteria when it went to citizen match day members. There was also no restriction on when the membership was bought so someone could have bought a membership on the day and got a ticket.
