How about offering use of the Mini Stadium to UFCM, cheeky yes but if Gary Cook was still with City could see him doing it placing a story in the press of how Unt played only 200 mts away when they played in Manchester and how City had helped them with a loan of there ground twice since the war.

I thought the bridge was supposed to be "iconic" That looks like a motorway bridge and a bit shit tbh.

The iconic plans were dropped to save cash.

I also heard that the bridge didnt need to be the centre of attention as the buildings were going to have enough impact on their own.

Still a shame its not as it was originally planned as I like a nice bridge.

Does City's agreement with Etihad mean that we can't negotiate any additional deals involving the Campus?

From memory although the name "The Etihad Campus" will remain the rest is all up for grabs.

Does anyone know when the entire project (training & academy facilities) is expected to be completed?

I read by the start of next season somewhere but from the pictures people have been posting it's difficult to see how it can be done that quick.

It will definitely be ready for the start of next season.

I thought they were months behind schedule now.

I was told that it had fallen behind a little , but that they were confident of getting it back on track and ready for Sept 2014, by someone who would move there for work from Platt Lane.

I've posted before how this thread is my favorite,very excited.

I'm hoping they are filming the process in a grand designs type of way, I would really enjoy watching the ideas,the planning,the works and finally the working academy,it would make an excellent programme.

A quick observation on the new academy site going back to an earlier discussion on the thread.

The plans are for 16.5 football pitches with 12 of them 'dedicated to players aged 8-21'.

So its clear that most of the facility is for non- 1st team use.

An incredible investment in youth development.

I have faith in the "project". With the speed of which the CFA is being thrown up I have no doubt they could do the same with the South Stand in much shorter timeframes.

the cost of clearing a site is roughly the same for what-ever was there before, the big problem is finding somewhere to take the spoil, and transporting it there, or even high-temperature incineration
