Quite spectacular thread tangenting.

Well done all. Is it possible that the discovery of an ancient mancunian burial ground under the footings of the proposed extension to the south stand could be debated :)

You're not wrong there.

The mods should get a grip.

On reflection as the worst culprit is a mod, that doesn't seem very likely!

I don't think anyone has taken into account three things:
1) How much a 15 KT bomb would cost (£400m - £1bn after some googling for USA defence budgets)
2) The fuckers would get money to rebuild it bigger and better from public coffers again.
3) They'd use it to sell merchandise.

Just to try and steer it back to dreamland Pandaworld et al...

Its an interesting balancing act for the Sheikh and his family.

They *could* spend huge amounts of money developing MCFC and the Campus into something truly spectacular but in doing that they waste a similar opportunity that could be utilised in AD.

Would you, if you were Sheikh Mansour and his family want Manchester to have the worlds best indoor leisure attraction when it could be easier to build it next to an F1 circuit?

Quite honestly they could build and be associated with both.
They've referred to MCFC and CFG consistently as a flagship operation, so I think the prestige a Leisure complex like the one mentioned in Eastlands would generate for them would be something they'd welcome, the way the UAE are expanding I don't think any developments in Abu Dhabi and East Manchester have to be mutually exclusive.

Surely he doesn't have to choose he can have two equally good but different leisure attractions. There is already Ferrari world in Abu Dhabi which fits with a F1 circuit. In Manchester he can build something equally as spectacular but on a different theme.

Just been sat in a garage in Wilmslow ,one of the customers there was chatting to the Sales rep about how things had picked up for him
Turns out hes an electrical Contracter and has been given the job of re-routing the cabling at city so the diggers don't hit it ... the main point being the rep seemed to think it was both ends but this fella said no .. it was just the south that he had to reroute
I was a bit disappointed really .. still hoped they might do both ends

Maybe he's only doing the high voltage work (>1000V), this only runs past the South Stand, Low voltage needs to be rerouted at both ends.

NS is being done after SS, but we don't know how long after.

Doing his bit! You make it sound like a raffle he's organised at the local church hall!

Again, not directly related to the Collar/Campus plot but with one or two cogs on the rumour mill suggesting a concert venue on the site and the Apollo in Ardwick shifting (or did I make that up?) these proposals are of interest:

PDF form at the moment, though there might be a few Jpgs knocking around. New residential apartment build directly opposite the Apollo - site nicely together? I like the venue myself, and my eldest daughter has now started to go to gigs there...
