Sick to death of these players speaking out of turn calling the shots saying what the club and manger will do.

Its got to stop somewhere, FUCK sending our best players out on loan what are we are fucking charity ? If Given wants to temper tamtrum and demand a move and is not willing to fight for his place, fuck him but he will have to be sold and we want back what we paid for him.

He can go to Arsenal whatever we need to get a squad of players that actually want to play for us, on our terms and are going to be team player not going crying to the press every 5 minutes when they dont get their own way.

Totally agree, for that quote alone he should start on the bench for me and learn to shut his trap, yes hart has done the same, difference being he's a kid who will learn from the outbursts, given is a seasoned pro who should know better, fuck me i expect more from a guy who has so much experience............. seems to me he doesnt fancy his chances against joe.

And which quote would that be?

Think we're making the same mistake Capello made. With only a few days to go we don't know who is going to start in goal. Should have loaned out Hart until Christmas already. Defenders would know for sure who was going to be playing behind them and, as a bonus, we wouldn't be seen, should we loan out one of them soon, to have players calling the shots.

We have 38 league matches and the possibility of 18ish in the Europa league plus the other two domestic cup comps, so, all in all that's two seasons worth of games.
I'd suggest one keeper for the league (which probably is Given as he has the number 1 jersey) and Hart for all cup games.

If we had to choose one to go, IMO it should be Given as he's in the last years of his career. I'd hold out for a fooking good price though

You think that whoever it is who gets the cup games will be happy. We all know that's second choice. Not to mention they'll want to play all games.
Having 2 keepers rotate league and cup games will be a disaster, not just for them, but the defenders. The keeper and defender need to be a solid block, rotate you're strikers or whatever, but not keepers. It might start out fine. But if we do well in the Europa League both will want to play. The idea is you start with your kids and your second string and when the big games come around you start your starting team. That's what is done these days.

Neither will want to give that up. They both will want to play all games, it will start fine, hopefully but it'll get messy, and we all know it.
We'll loose one of them come January, that's how it'll be I'd say.

So let us use two defences and rotate them

defence one Given, richards,boateng,kompany,kolorov.

Defence two: Hart, zab toure, lescott bridge

"Possibly, if I didn't start, then there could be a loan and then I'd come back and see where that takes me."

I think thats down to us don't you? Don't presume anything here - robinho will find out the exact same.

Shay, yes you are a good goalkeeper but we have to start looking towards the future and as the season went on last year i thought there was a slight dip in your form, where as Joe performed really well at a weaker team.

Close the door on your way out.

That'd be my response

Try taking it in context, when pushed to answer the question whether he would leave or go on loan he said he'd prefer to stay at such a big and ambitious club, might consider a loan, but would much prefer to stay.
He's not throwing his toys out demanding to leave, he's saying if he didn't start he might consider going out on loan for a while, see how that goes, because at 34 he wants to play as many games as possible, but at the end wants to come back and see where it takes him. That's the quote you're annoyed about.

Oh heaven above. Some supporters these days..worse than journos.

2 Wrongs dont make a right Zin - they are both under contract (bloody good ones at that!!) and should fight for their place like any other player. If this spreads through the team we will have a right old mess to sort out!! Dont forget Given's understudy at The Toon (Harper) waited for years to get his chance and hes a damn fine keeper as well.............thinking about it, lets go after him to really put the cat amongst the pigeons :-) !!!

Given v Spurs
Hart v Romanian side
Given v Liverpool
Hart v Romanian side at home
Given v Sunderland

and so on both get games what the fuck is there to argue about.

in football there are two types of goalkeepers.
goalkeepers good for small teams. then there are goalkeepers good for great teams.
the goalkeeper is especially good for small teams when he is a good shotstopper. his small team may undergoes 20 or more shots every game.
a good keeper for a great team must be able to do other things. usually his team suffers a very few shots.
but he must know how to control the defense and should be complete.
must be good with his feet to kick a ball with precision. and must have vision becouse often he his the first playmaker. and must be able to go out on high balls.
Given in my opinion is not a keeper for a big club

rm should tell them both to stop moaning and get on with it.
then really fuck them both off and play stuart taylor now that would be funny

They are good shot stoppers but both share the same weaknesses in cross and distribution. Imo, Mancini should go out and buy a better all-round keeper instead. Both Germany's no.1 and no.2, René Adler (Leverkusen) and Manuel Neuer (Schalke), are the better all-round keepers who our club should seriously look at to replace these crying babies imo.

Just seen the interview and IMO Given was bang out of order.
When asked if he wanted to consider his options,he should've been professional and diplomatic.
He was neither.Instead,he effectively gave the manager an ultimatum on tv.
If he wants to go out on loan then the place to discuss it isn't on SSN,wearing an Irealnd shirt-it's Mancini's office.

Given should remember that he's had a serious injury-and one that can often re-occour once it's happened.
City stood by him.
He should be patient, fight for his place and not publicly throw his toys out on tv.
It's a team game,not "Shay Given FC."

Grow up,cry-baby.
No-one's gauranteed a place in this team.

Given Off ?

Anyone see the interview with Given on TV----Says he will consider leaving City if he does'nt start on Saturday.[ie The 1st choice keeper will start again'st Spurs]--- He went on to say that at his age he needs to be playing regular first team football. I have to say i'm disappointed in his attitude and suprised by what appears to be an ultimatum to the club

firstly this supporter isn't wearing his green coloured tints, he's intelligent enough to understand the word context and how it applies to this 'interview'........... the fact he states 'consider' at all sniffs of pushing bob into a decision, don't be so naive, nobody has a divine right to a starting berth........... Yes he wants to play first team football, just so happens so does Big joe, battle it out like a pro instead of spouting off in the press and get the fucking job done.

Re: Given Off ?

As he says that at his age he needs to be playing first team football, perhaps someone ought to point out to him that at his age he should now be able to come for a cross, leave his goal line more than just at the half and full time whistle, catch the ball, command his area and also be able to distribute the ball whilst still keeping it in play at the same time as well.

Just saw that on SSN. Can we be clear..... None of our goalkeepers are going anywhere. I don't care what they want, they signed on, they honour their contract and give 100%

Exactly right TF. I bet there isn't a contract in the club that says they have to be picked. But I suspect that the Irish hacks are at the back o' this in some way. It'll be press yap. We have two superb goalies and the press will use that to pit one against t'other or one agin the manager.

Nobody with half a brain cell will give Mancini an ultimatum.

IF they were two superb goalies then mancini cant fauil . any choice will be good.

the problem may be that none of them two are good enough
