Manchester’s Changing Skyline

Hopefully that will be the new Piccadilly Gardens when the council and their chosen architects eventually make the new plans for Piccadilly Gardens public. At least the concrete pavillion is now being redeveloped, and the grass areas have been returfed.

That's simply horrendous and sadly will still be full of crackheads a majority of the time.

The owners of the Pavilion, can’t remember who they are, refused to demolish it as part of a wider redevelopment of Piccadilly Gardens.

Instead they compromised and are redeveloping the pavilion by demolishing part of it, opening it up more, so it doesn’t look as oppressive, and are adding illuminated artwork to the remaining concrete walls to soften them up.

Unfortunately no amount of money and redevlopment will get rid of the drug dealers and druggies that plague Piccadilly Gardens. Only extra policing and security will do that hopefully?

The link to the article should work?

That is a real picture not a CGI. :-)

More Cockney Rags are moving to Manchester. :-(

Screen grabbed from a short video.

You can see the Fusion site - 28 fl, with piling rig, directly below, and the Stay City - 22fl, concrete core at the end of Deansgate.

Northern Moor becoming a "des res". Wow.

This might explain one of the reasons why there’s no start on site yet?

John Freeman - ASPRO CEM, Principal Designer (CDM Advisor) - Linkedin

You remember my previous post which said that Consult International Ltd. is responsible for the railway assurance of this iconic Manchester project. I now need recommendations for a supplier of structural monitoring on the railway viaduct before we start piling. We have a very challenging programme. Could someone today recommend a company, please?
Incidentally, I am desperate for new Engineers to work for Consult International, preferably signed off as rail CEMs working at home flexible, 4 to 40 hours a week on mega bucks per hour.
Are there any Developers out there who need our services? Are you building next to the railway? You might need our help.

Some shots of the work completed on parts of the town hall, which will be 1 year behind schedule and £30mill over budget when completed.

The redevelopment of the Printworks may have already been completed? I can’t remember the last time was in the Prinrworks.

ADI will install Europe’s largest digital ceiling as part of a huge digital transformation project at Manchester’s iconic Printworks venue.

The multi-million-pound project will see ADI install, create content for and operate a giant multimedia creative platform that spans the entire ceiling inside of Printworks. The project is part of a massive £16million refurbishment taking place at the city centre entertainment complex throughout 2022 which will make the venue more welcoming during both day and night. The huge, multi-faceted media platform will provide its diverse range of day/night audiences with unique and immersive experiences that harness mixed-reality applications, show-stopping creative and live gamification.

visited this fantastic building today: The John Dalton Building at Manchester Metropolitan University. The project is being constructed by our Bowmer and Kirkland Ltd North West Region.

Manchester did what it does and rained on us, but that bronze cladding still shone through. It was a pleasure to be able to show our clients from The University of Sheffield a great example of science teaching space.

Thanks to Gary Lewis for the tour, great to see such passion and pride in the work being done here.

Regardless of how Neville and his business partners has done it, St Michael’s is going to be a new residential, office & hotel game changer for Manchester. It could be the best looking tower in Manchester to date if the cladding already visible in the office block,is anything to go by. I’ve got to give Neville credit for the (redesigned) St Michael’s development.(through gritted teeth)

Cluck on the Linkedin link for the Neville, St Michael’s, interview. Which is quite interesting.

The pictures are a month old, but these are the only pictures I’ve managed to find of the redevelopment of Campfield markets.
