Metrolink to / from Etihad

Just been on the Metrolink route planner checking for the Arsenal game on the 19th April. Put in Navigation Road tram stop to Etihad Campus tram stop and got some weird answer. Had me going to Market Street then getting a bicycle to Holt Town. Is there some problem with the Metrolink through town that day. Surely the Marathon hasn’t fucked up the trams?

Lol, 'getting a bicycle to Holt Town' ....

Have a look at that 'matchday bus' post near the bottom of page 129 .... it mentions the metrolink works.

Manchester marathon is on the Sunday! City centre is a no go area and hotels at £200 a night for Fri & Sat.

That’s always the problem with FAC semi final weekend accomm in London (should we be lucky enough to make it again). Have a look at the numbers entered for the London marathon this year. Gonna take every hotel room out to Watford to accommodate that lot!

City will soon have sky blue pogo sticks in the club shop to solve these transport issues.
Don't give Andy Burnham any ideas no matter how daft they'll be piled high on street corners next week
Just seen eccles line down for maintenance again this weekend amazing does it ever run

Bus from Piccadilly Gardens outside the Travelodge arrive in plenty of time it is a much better option than the tram.
Back into town I used it when I use to sit in the SS.
Well organised back into town most games as well.

From Plymouth?
The topic is: Metrolink to / from Etihad.

My comment on travel to the Etihad has been that the difficult step is not the City centre to the Etihad but getting into Manchester from afar. The City centre to the Etihad is easy. It is London/Glasgow/Newcastle/etc - Manchester that is dysfunctional. A sense of perspective is required.

I am aware that the excellent No. 10 matchday bus is running tomorrow and indeed they are running 2 buses to cope with the shutdown but, I am worried they are going to be over subscribed.
I have looked on the metro site, am I correct in saying that no trams will travel through Cornbrook so Altrincham, Eccles, Chorlton are all out of service. Further, I assume St Peters Sq. is also u.s.
To get to the game the only option is I can use the replacement bus to Piccadilly ?

What a shit show.

The Trains are still running to Manchester Piccadilly to and from Altrincham tomorrow
