The day after they looked at the US and Canadian helicopter gunships that had materialised overnight and were lounging casually just in case they were needed, and decided better of it.

As someone who has only ever been a distant observer of the conflict, in the immediate aftermath of the terrorist attack, all my sympathies were with Israeli people. Now, as the 'war' is going on for more than a month now, its shifted to the innocent civilians of Palestine. I don't think I am alone in that regard. If Israel were to shift more towards extreme right, they can't then complain if more of the rest of the world moves against them.

There does need to be some pragmatism from the Palestinians as well, give and take is the only way this can be solved, some sacred cows will have to go

Also the PA needs some serious reform, perhaps moving away from its PLO roots and into a modem Democratic Party with younger leaders

Under the current Israeli government made up of the far right, change will be impossible without some major stick from the Americans, as soon as this over elections will take place I guess let’s hope a more pragmatic government takes over

A move away from Islamic extremism is a must for any sort of lasting peace deal and 2 state solution to have a chance as it’s the only way you keep the right wing ghouls out of power in Israel.

As both sides feel pushed into a corner they both have moved to right, there is no issue with having a party based on Islamic principles as long as they renounce violence and adhere to democratic norms and the same goes for Israel

Both sides feed off each other, to the point if one goes the other goes it’s ghoulish dance of death and destruction is it not about time the world called a halt ?

I can only think you're making a distinction between land grabs in the West Bank and land grabs in Gaza. You do know that when Israel last occupied Gaza they allowed settlements, and those settlers now want to come back? And that for some Israelis, their version of "from the river to the sea" includes Gaza as well as the West Bank?

The assertion was that Israel possibly wanted to occupy Gaza regardless of the Oct 7th atrocity. This point of debate was then conflated by others, including yourself, with other matters. There was no proof provided that what was originally being stated was anything other than an assumption.
