Pep: 'The players deserve a full stadium, we need our fans!'

It's difficult to stand up for what you believe in in the face of the majority particularly if it seen as anti-city to have an opinion that differs from the club and I am right there with both of you on that point.

It's just that I'm taking a pragmatic approach on this one. There are more effective ways to protest now. I loved that City fans and PSG fans joined the legal fight against UEFA's FFP for example.
Haha, I actually find it quite easy to swim against the tide and stand up for what I believe in. A trait I share with the vast majority of blues.

I can remember when a small handful of posters were pointing out Pellegrini's obvious flaws. Point being just because you're in a small minority on here doesn't mean you're in the wrong. One things for sure, we won't be going quietly ;)
Spot on brother and I for one will battle on as long as is necessary and no-one will silence me & definitely NOT UEFA!!!.... Takes a deep breath - BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol :-)

Oh so i am allowed to comment then, great.

Khaldoon hasn't requested we stop, no. Just the manager former chairman Paul Lake etc so far.

And you are allowed to continue of course. However impotent & misguided that may be.

Hopefully you will be drowned out by people shouting support for the team, but if not, perhaps UEFA will allow you to continue being heard rather than turning the mics down.

"However impotent & misguided that may be.

Could you possibly sound more self important and pompous? You make me cringe.

As crooked and liaring as they are dont you think continuing to boo them will turn them more crooked against us? I mean I think it has achieved what we wanted, but now it is being counter-productive.
But that's the thing, I don't see it like that. If someone you knew kept on haranguing you everywhere you went remorselessly, at some point you'd snap. The best thing to do would be to take your protester to one side and resolve the issues amicably.

They say the difficult takes time, and the impossible takes that little bit longer. So I have faith that a breaking point will be reached when others are forced to join the fight. Every team who has never won the EC/CL has something to gain and nothing to lose here. No doubt it will take time, but it will happen, I'm sure of it.

Wheras you are doing something completely different posting pictures of suits & prawn sandwiches & making out you are superior ?

I will boo when I'm in the stadium during the anthem for reasons known and up until the moment I genuinly believe the UEFA rules in a fair transparant way to all FA's and their clubs.
As soon as the anthems final note is played I go back to supporting City fullhearted. And I don't give a shat if people do or don't agree.

All the club has to do, instead of getting the message down thru various paid mouthpieces is reimburse fully those poor sods who weighed in for the Russian trip, and then knock this off whatever whack they feed UEFA....and all will be happy around the campfire.

Maybe it will happen one day but for now, I don't see an end to the booing and whilst I don't think it's right any longer, despite sharing the loathing of UEFA as an organization, I completely understand why it happens and respect the right of those to do it.
The booing was a little less vigorous on Wednesday. May be lots of fans not sure what to do and alternative would be followed.

Each to their own mate, me & @hgblue will continue the fight until we get justice!! :-)

As such I will continue to BOO until my bloodshot eyes bulge and I bust a blood vessel...... You may have noticed previously that I react adversely to bullies & I'll always seek to protect the weak and innocent even if they can't help protect themselves.....
Just out of interest dribble, and I really don't mean to provoke, but what realistically could UEFA do for you to consider justice has been served?

It would be so easy to all protest about UEFA by drowning out their anthem & supporting the club, but apparently the right of the individual to make cattle noises would somehow be infringed by this, so we have to split into different factions of those who do what the manager asked & those who ignore him instead.

Absolutely, comment away. Cheer the anthem if you want, sing along to it, sing Blue Moon over it, do whatever you think is right.

Franny Lee and Paul Lake are entitled to their views. I've got a lot of respect for both.

As important as you might think booing the anthem, it's already getting press. There were numerous press articles about it only this week which highlighted City's gripes with UEFA. Almost as if those gripes had been leaked to the press by the club...

At the very least, the couple of million readers of the Mail, Telegraph and Mirror will have read about City's gripes with UEFA. That's a huge positive in my view.

Far less impotent than singing Blue Moon while the anthem plays. That would create zero headlines and zero impact, so think you're flogging a bit of a dead horse there mate.

If the club wanted us to stop it would be extraordinarily easy for them to communicate that wouldn't it? A post on the website or social media would take less time than it's taken me to write this. But the club haven't have they?

As I said earlier, even if the club had requested we stop, it doesn't mean we should. Everyone makes their own decision.

And that's why they are unlikely to officially request it. If they do, a percentage of people will ignore them & that is absolute porn for UEFA.

Guardiola has asked for it to stop.

Fans supporting the team & drowining out the anthem by shouting City over it would be a far noisier, (& really far far noisier) effect than 20% or less booing, which is likely how it's going to end up by the end of this season, at best. It shows respect & support for the manager & it would make for a fantastic atmosphere at kick off.

Booing it is impotent. It hasn't worked & it isn't even a proper protest. If people really want to protest why don't they do it properly like other clubs have ?

It's a half arsed token gesture which Pep thinks is not helping in what he is trying to achieve. I see no reason why it's not possible to support the team & if people want to have a go at UEFA, do that properly whilst also going balls out to win the competition.

Or just boycott it if people feel that strongly.

This 100%

Not really related, but not thread worthy either. At the match i heard about 8 blues singing (tune of the mancini song):

Guardiola, woah oh oh
Guardiola, Woah oh oh
He comes from Catalan
He is Man Citys man

I nearly fucking died of a brain aneurysm. How shit is that

What are the huge positives you speak of? personslly I don't care about whether other fans understand why the booing. They don't listen when the excuses for empty seats is peddled to justify why not full house. They don't give a shit.
We are on the cusp of becoming a top 4 European side in my mind aiming to win the biggest club prize. To do this we need to listen to pep, not least so he feels part of the club and stays to develop us. We want him to love the club as much as us, build s legacy. As it stands may well be saying to himself what a bunch of miserable fuckers, I'm off after 3.
