I was unsure but you've convinced me.We should take our cues from ourselves, we make our minds up as individuals and are not influenced or shouldn't be by anybody else.

Funny. It goes without saying people will make their own minds up.
But it isn't rocket science or controversial to suggest listening to the best manager in the world who's got a vested interest in doing what's best for our team and our players. We're there to support the team he manages. Not protest the things about modern football that upset us.
Maybe not the poznan, but I think turning our backs to the pitch during the UEFA jingle could be most effective. Respecting Pep's wishes not to boo, but also showing our disgust at the corrupt antics of UEFA.Just do the poznan when the CL anthem plays
Agree, check his paper recycling bin on a monday morning. I'll wager they'll be a few empty brown envelopes with a Swiss stamp on themI believe we should target individuals & not a faceless organisation.
We should make it our every effort to make David Gills reputation the same as Blatter, once he's finished move onto the next one at a time.
Did Pep mention those episodes of booing? I can't recall him doing so which leads me to believe he has totally got the wrong end of the stick and made a link between Wednesday's poor attendance & our booing which is all about our treatment at the hands of UEFA/G14.Nothing against what Pep and Samuel have said - I can see both sides of it and Samuel is one of the few journalists that regularly fights our corner. As for Pep, I think he just wants a stadium of fans full or positivity and he wants as many people to turn out and enjoy this remarkable brand of football we're playing. As such, I can see more blues turning out for CL games in future plus the perfect answer to our issues with UEFA would be to win the CL....again and again and again...
However, I think both Pep and Samuel are missing part of the point here. Although the 2 clubs Pep has previously managed are part of that elite that UEFA likes to cosy up to, the fans of both of those clubs have also had their own issues with UEFA. The Bayern fans in particular share a common theme with us with regards to the CSKA Moscow debacle when both City and Bayern fans were treated with utter contempt. So much so that this is when the booing of the anthem started - at a home game between us and Bayern where both sets of fans booed the anthem and Pep was present as Bayern manager! As for Barca, well they've had multiple fines as a result of fans flying the Catalan flag and the anthem regularly gets jeered by the Barca fans as a result.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^two separate issues for me.
I would certainly like to see us pack out the stadium for CL matches (for the record I've been on the cup scheme every season).
If we had sell out crowds and it was rocking then the booing could continue and if anything it would probably add to the atmosphere. the problem is that the booing is framed by a half full stadium.
Rocking atmosphere beforehand / 30 seconds of deafening boos / rocking atmosphere afterwards = great environment for fans, players and pep.
So a man who prepares meticulously for games thinks that 30 seconds of booing undoes all that preparation? Utter bollocks.Sure that goes without saying. But if you're going to listen to someone. Listen to the bloke who is in charge of our team and who could be effected by the booing.
Well I have just listened to the view of Paul Lake. We know there isn't a bigger blue going around than Lakey. He discussed the fine margins in Champions League football, and he spoke from the viewpoint of a former professional player (unlike, I would hazard a guess, all on here).
Lakey is very strongly of the view that the booing has to stop. In saying that he recognised the legitimate grievances that City has against UEFA. However he strongly pointed out the enormity of the task in winning the Champions League. That there must be total positivity both leading up to, and during a game. He said that even if it affected in subtle ways one or two players, then we as fans are not giving the team 100% support.
I reiterate that Paul Lake is arguably more qualified to speak about these things from a playing perspective. I prefer to take my cue from people like him, rather than a London journo.
My own humble view is that in this issue I support Pep. If he thinks it might affect the team, then it has to stop.
For those that might want to listen to Paul Lakes comments, they can be found on the CityWatch podcast (the review of the Moenchengladbach game).
On the attendance issue, I think that Pep is probably linking the booing with the attendance, in the sense that disillusioned City fans are not turning up because of their hatred for UEFA. However there are obviously financial factors, and the postponement, which caused the smaller crowd. I don't think any of would disagree with the idea that the players deserve a full house, but whether City fans can afford it is another matter entirely.

As others have said he's managed two of UEFA's darlings who have millions of plastic, tourist fans. Now he's at a club which is UEFA's bete noire with a loyal but limited fanbase. He's got to get used to that.

100% this, they are well aware of our major grievance, why stop when they have done nothing to address it, as much as I've got a lot of time for Paul, no bigger blue ? I'd wager there are a fair few on here that have spent more of their hard earned following the club over the years than he has.Lake also said, publicly on the radio, that the atmosphere was crap on Saturday. He was 100% wrong on that and he's 100% wrong on the booing. I suspect the club are getting a bit embarrassed by it as it may be causing problems with UEFA. It wouldn't even surprise me if it was UEFA putting pressure on the club as the booing is hurting them. If that's the case then we need to ramp it up, not stop it.
If they want it to stop then all they have to do is refund those fans who lost money by not being allowed to attend a game they'd been allowed and encouraged to buy tickets for. At that point, our major grievance is ended.
