It’s not what he said, it’s the fact he responded about a huge confidential matter to a random member of the public

Maybe, but if that was the case, I think Stefan is making the distinction that we are several years past that time for us. The ship has sailed and in fact landed at its destination! We are waiting a long time for people to depart the ship however.

It did involve certain clubs but its overt nature means it is not a conspiracy.

Everything at the PL is driven by certain clubs then others vote on it, and sometimes City are a "certain club" too.

I think Arsenal, Newcastle, United and maybe Villa? were investigated by HMRC over various issues around this and also image rights payments and had to pay back tax.

That’s the problem though when rules are proposed, voted on by members and put into action, it will always be arguable that some sort of collusion and coercion has happened. It doesn’t necessarily mean it is a conspiracy, but I do agree that certain parties have too much say in all of this.

Even if that were significant, which I can’t quite see, the trial has finished.

If we are found innocent it’s because we haven’t done anything not because the Government has told the panel to come to that conclusion…much as I would like to believe it if it helped us!

I think in a case such as this there might be degrees of guilt, perhaps surprising, and therefore any sentence should reflect that. Perhaps those driving this case did not agree with this view and wanted the nuclear option in sentencing. Pure speculation I know but something has been going on for such a delay
