Frank Lampard just embarrassed himself with this decision. He has disrespected the club he promised to commit himself to. Whether he wanted to stay at MCFC is not relevant -- he made a committment to NYCFC. As a result, he will never have the support he could have had from NYCFC fans. This is not the way business is done and this kind of thing will not sit well with New York sports fans. There is nothing mutually beneficial about this relationship. The decision is more upsetting for the precedent it sets.

Oh dear. This is going to go well hahaha.

You guys really don't get it do you? Bizarre to say the least.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

Well I guess this is what happens if you team up with the Yankees, you get a bunch of self entitled fans who think they should be instantly handed everything and that everyone owes them something before they even fucking exist. They are the rags of baseball and always have been, the gloryhunters club of choice with millions of dickheads around the world wearing their merchandise without knowing the first thing about the club, or even the sport they play.

Always great to see opposition fans posting constructively on BM.

So is Jose getting any grief for not giving Lamps a contract for this season given he's proved more than worthy of one?

Yes, he is. And maybe rightfully so. We'll see. In fact, Mou did offer Lamps a new contract, but with a pay cut and Frank didn't take it. I believe that's fair, he's a professional footballer and can sign any contract he wants to, but it's the fact that he declined a new Chelsea contract (because of the - i assume - big pay cut that some Chelsea fans have a hard time to come to peace with.

I get the feeling Chelsea offered him a wage that they knew wouldn't be accepted. Mourinho probably didn't want him, but knew that if he refused to offer Frank a new contract, it would look like an insult. Maybe Frank did want to leave and prove himself elsewhere too, who knows.

It allowed everyone to save face. Frank had a reason to decline, Mou had a way of shoving him out, and everyone got what they wanted perhaps.

Actually its totally relevant, and you'll see him a couple of months late, coming to you hopefully as a Premier League winner, though I suspect you may not like that if it happens.

What makes you think NYCFC fans care if he is a Premier League winner? What exactly is so beneficial about him staying at MCFC? He'll be coming into the MLS midseason at 37 years old without a break in years. You can keep him.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

Well looks like Gerrard is to announce tomorrow that he's off to the MLS.

So if NYC make a move on him, all this will be swept under the carpet. And the club and it's fans that don't even exist yet can stop having a bitch.

It must be tough for the NYC fans, especially if they are exposed to some of the inaccurate coverage and mis-information in the media. There's certainly no disrespect on FL's part, nor any embarrassment. It's a CFG decision, based on an assessment of what is right for all concerned. And that is the way business is done I'm afraid. One for NYC to suck-up this time round perhaps - but there will be better times ahead I'm sure.

MLS at 37? He'll be a decent youth prospect for you then.

And let's be honest here, wherever he does end up and we don't know where that will be, the only totally clear piece of this muddy jigsaw is that it won't be your decision. Not only will you lot get Lampard at 37, you'll line up to suck him off at the airport.

Thanks, we are.

As for the rest of your post, he'd be coming to NYCFC and the MLS as a Premier League winner, the hardest league to win, I think it would count for something in the grand scheme of things.

So pray do tell, which is your Premier League side then ?

Go fuck yourself you sad twat. You "support" a team that wouldn't even exist without us. Feel free to magically pick another team you ungrateful pick.

Nothing beneficial?

New York will see a new stadium built to house all these "unwavering" supporters, where they can witness the likes of Frank Lampard, David Villa and I'm sure many more for years to come; not just 3 months or so.

If you don't want a new team, new stadium and the chance to see some fantastic players then I'm sure someone else will.

[bigimg]http://media.giphy.com/media/DuaK1bQ8CbARi/giphy.gif[/bigimg]

MCFC is not giving New York a "new team, new stadium and the chance to see some fantastic players". The team would have existed without MCFC - the ownership just happened to win the bidding. MCFC is not responsible for the existence of a new MLS team in NYC. The team would be better off it was not tied to MCFC as its priorities would lie with the actual NY team. There is actually a group of unwavering supporters of NYCFC so there is no reason to mock the fan base. You would be equally upset if something like this happened to your club. It's not about Lampard....its about the precedent this move makes. NYFC and its fans should be taken seriously. There is no reason to show this fan base such disrespect just because we are a new club.

Also, where is this new stadium you speak of?

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

Not being funny, but Bradley Wright-Phillips last year equalled the record for the most goals ever scored in a season. I don't think you have to worry that Lampard will suddenly be too old for your league in a few months! On that point, maybe we should get BWP to come back to City? Just not the real City, the NY one of course
