Just the general lack of manners. For instance, when you hold a door open for the person coming up behind you, and they don't have the decency to say "thanks". Even older people. With young ones, your expectations are generally low. But you're as likely to get an acknowledgement from a 16 year old, as a pensioner. Harry Enfield got it right with the two miserable old gits characters.

I usually say thank you for them as they pass me....cunts.

I find my lush grey locks, bushy beard and my stick work wonders as people hold open doors, usher me on to the bus etc etc. Last week’s haircut and beard trim have notably changed matters. Mrs KS says I look ten years younger. I shall go back to older asap.

I married one. When she was a student nurse at Prestwich I used to visit and stay in the staff accomodation. You could hardly tell the patients from the staff.
