There are huge problems relating to fraud, especially with banks and they do stupid things like that.
It's as if they want criminals to make money out of customers

I'd had to chase a replacement debit card and received a call from somebody claiming to be the bank. To check that it was them, I purposely failed the password check, assuming that they'd just say 'er that doesn't match what I have, try again'.

Unfortunately, they said that their rules meant they had to terminate the call! On that occasion, they never did call back and I had to go into the bank. Ridiculous in this day and age.

Any of us could call somebody, ask for the 2nd and 4th letter of their password and just say 'thank you' and we'd be in.

The caller should be the one giving credentials to the receiver, surely?

I mean, it ain't rocket surgery, is it?

Train from Manchester yesterday was hammered and a heavily pregnant woman was stood up with nobody (Including lots of other women) wanting to offer her a seat. I asked her if she wanted to sit down but she declined but that would have been normal behaviour at one time.
