VAR Discussion Thread - 2023/24 | PL clubs to vote on whether to scrap VAR (pg413)

Would you want VAR scrapped?

I think the programme is a huge step in the right direction. Webb claims he wants more transparency. They therefore need to analyse ALL the controversial incidents so that we can hear the decision making process that occurred for each. If they miss any obvious ones out, we will know it's a cover up and a sham.
ALL is the key word.

Thats how you know its bullshit, it has taken city supposedly benefitting for this to happen, why didnt this happen after the utd wolves game, why now?

Webb: "certainly appears Akanji has an impact on the goalkeeper who seems to hesitate"

With words like "appears" and "seems to" who could argue with such certainty.

VAR is garbage whether it goes for us or against us. If they insist on keeping it then we must hear the discussion in real time. The discussion should always go "this is fucking awful for fans, shall we get rid lads?"
It's bonkers. He's assuming the keeper is hesitating because Akanji is moving but Akanji is being wary enough to get out of the way. Otherwise any movement of any player stood in an offside position in future could be deemed to be affecting the keeper, they might as well change the rule.

This is all about Webb and his massive ego, why the hell is he on tv subjectively judging his own employees?
