They may not have a choice! The teams are not quitting the PL

I watch test cricket, 6 nations and club rugby, lions tours, and plenty of other sports including local level sport and I can honestly say promotion and relegation (or not) makes virtually no difference to my enjoyment of any given event. I certainly I’m no fan of what I’ve heard proposed today, but I can’t honestly say promotion/relegation is what stops it all from being pointless. Ultimately my main priority in football is as a supporter of City, not the FA or the “football pyramid”.You are glossing over the fact that most fans of most clubs know they will never win the Premier league, or be in the chumps league.... but it is the ILLUSION that it COULD happen that makes the competitive nature of the leagues so compelling.
That's why promotion chasing Brentford can dream of the premier promised land whilst playing former 2 time European champions Notts Forest.
Remove that and it's all just pointless.
UEFA, the English Football Association, the Premier League, the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), LaLiga, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and Lega Serie A all announced that statement together as one.
Germany and France have both dismissed it outright.
Who in turn need viewers.they don’t need fans all they need is tv companies paying billions
It would be crazy for the pl to throw out their biggest 6 assets. No UEFA and all the government bodies of England Spain and Italy are
I can only go off their statements so far.Of course they will
I can see it a mile off: Madrid’s owner, United’s owners, Liverpool’s owner, Juve’s owner and Arsenal’s owner are the chairmen of this, and we haven’t got a single person representing us on the board. The fact that some people think this new Super League won't try and stiff City worse than UEFA tried (which was by the ESL founders requests and moaning tbh) is quite amusing.
It'd have to be approved by the PL and UEFA. What happens if those 'teams' qualifies to the CL? No way in hell UEFA would accept that eventuality, hence the expulsion threat.maybe club will want both and have 2 teams one in the super league and another in the premier league
Arse and Spurs? It would be crazy for the pl to throw out their biggest 6 assets.
Yeah I get that it won’t make economic sense to the PL tho I can see Sky thinking I’m not paying that amount of money to pay the likes of BrentfordI can only go off their statements so far.
I hope they keep their word.
Would you say the football Nations League is better, or worse, than international friendlies?I watch test cricket, 6 nations and club rugby, lions tours, and plenty of other sports including local level sport and I can honestly say promotion and relegation (or not) makes virtually no difference to my enjoyment of any given event. Ashton's had a word...BBC story updated - Stone now saying 12 clubs including us
Something strange happened when I quoted it.Er dont know why I am quoted as saying that ! I havent said that ;)
Is he?
I quite like the prospect of City winning the league this year.
I'm sure he would love to see City docked points!!
That twat is a hypocrite who changes his mind whichever way the wind is blowing.
When the chairmen of this Super League are all owners of our rivals, yet doesn't ring any alarm bells for some people, that's when I give up.I can see it a mile off: Madrid’s owner, United’s owners, Liverpool’s owner, Juve’s owner and Arsenal’s owner are the chairmen of this, and we haven’t got a single person representing us on the board.
We’ll be kicked out within three seasons as the pigs at the trough find a way to fuck us over, and we won’t be welcomed back to domestic football after breaking away.
This will end in tears for City.
We are the most naïve club in world football if we go along with this!
All we’re hearing now is rumour. Rumour founded on truth no doubt, but let’s pay the club the respect of waiting to hear their POV before losing our shit.
I don’t like it, but my guess is they knew they had to jump here and there’s more to this we don’t know.
for a start nobody on the previous 88 pages has even twigged the front loaded finance deal on the table and removal from ffp would see the breakaway teams have a disgusting amount of cash to spend immediately. Want Haaland? Forget it. Messi? Staying at Barca. Neymar/Mbappe? Easy pickings.
This deal will literally be a bail out for some clubs on the ropes. You want to deal with that while still fighting with Uefa?
Yeah, but what do they know. :)No UEFA and all the government bodies of England Spain and Italy are
