There is less than 0% that such swap could happen, or any deal between City & PSG.
 
Think the original poll needs to be rewritten and I’d certainly prefer us to go for a ‘project’ striker now. There will inevitably be deflation amongst some that an established player has not been signed - well not so far- but maybe we’ll turn elsewhere and get someone younger who can take his chances.

Yeah, I just posted in the Odsonne Edouard thread that he'd be an option. In his fifth season for Celtic and scored every season. 23 years-old and in the last year of his contract. If nothing else he's not exactly a risk. It'd be nice to have one of those windows where you take a punt on a player and it comes off. He comes highly recommended by our resident Celtic fan.
 
Not seen any recent rumours but Darwin Nunez from Benfica looked a great prospect in the games I saw him play last season.

He’s entering the last year of his contract so would be easily obtainable. I just think that, like Dembele before him, it’s quite a step up from Celtic. Think he’ll end up at somewhere like Palace.

He's been linked there, I believe. But Dembele knocked us out of the CL in 2020 and has just signed for Atletico Madrid, so he's not done too badly. I don't have any strong opinions about him either way to be honest, but it's the perfect time to take a risk, unless they've got someone lined up. The last thing you want is for Palace to buy him, he scores shitloads of goals, and then next summer we're getting linked with him for 80 million.

And based on the clips I've seen, he looks like he can take a penalty, which is always a bonus.

Has he gone back to Madrid? I saw he played and scored for Lyon on Sunday but didn’t realise he’d gone back.

I’m not sure Palace would create enough chances for him to score 15 goals never mind ‘shiitloads’, but I get your point.

Rather hope that we’ve drawn a line early enough under the Kane deal for us to sign someone.
 
The fact we have left it so late I would use one of our kids. No point rushing in a signing now especially when nobody really suits us.

the club have messed up big time as they want champs league & we ain’t winning that this season without a top striker.

Do you mean Torres, Jesus, and Sterling, or do you mean Delap? Delap is too young to pin our hopes on just yet, and two of the other three are at best makeshift strikers.

Problem with not having a recognised striker is that we end up creating a system and utilising different people in that position simply to give them game time. We’re already doing that with the left-back slot, but it might not be our wisest decision to do that with the centre-forward position, too.

Should have won it last season without a striker to be fair.
 
We create plenty of chances so even a half-decent recognised striker should do okay and I'll be more than happy if we take a 'gamble' on someone like Edouard and cut out the middle man. We'd get back at least 50% in most cases so if we 'lost' £15 million it would hardly be disastrous. Would still like to see a naturally left sided pace merchant added too
