PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Do you not think part of our legal teams job will be to frame any drastic action like that as potentially illegal from a business perspective? That's the only way I can see us taking any negative outcome outside the closed shop of the pl and coming inquiry and into a legal/higher court?
Sorry, but I refuse to reply to any post that deploys the sinfully wank expression ‘legal team’.

One thing that may work in our favour is our opportunity to appeal any sanction. This would mean the whole shitshow starts again, a new panel is chosen, etc etc do the Premier League really want this or do they give us something that isn’t totally unpalatable and move on? May be wishful thinking on my part.

I guess submitting fraudulent accounts for the best part of a decade, which is essentially what they’re accusing us of, would fall into that category.

I just don’t see either how we could realistically have done that, or how they would even prove it if we had, given our heavily audited accounts, level of scrutiny etc. It seems an incredibly high bar they’ve set themselves here.
There’s is simply no way they are proving that. I refuse to accept that will be the outcome. It’s a preposterous suggestion.

I agree. I said earlier in the day that it'd be a certain fine for not cooperating, which may be added to for inconsequential technical breaches.

The media have caused a lot of the angst amongst our fans with their hysterical reaction to the news two days ago. It was speculative tripe carried by unsourced claims that other clubs want us to be expelled.
It will be a load of trumped up charges they can’t prove
But they will fine us for about 30 counts of non Cooperation and let the media say we were guilty.

It’s almost like they have set the bar high and then decided to charge us with 115 counts in the hope a few might stick.
along with the non cooperation ones which will then be exaggerated by the Simon Jordan’s of this world

Thank you mate. I don't think some people realise how hard it is! Ha. They're all people who are paid to talk for a living so naturally very good at sticking the knife in. Plus I know millions watch it so the pressure is on big time. Tried my best though to get across a lot of things lots of us have wanted to say for a while!
Absolutely class. Well done pal

It was the lack of publicity that astounded me , but that’s the anything that plays in red arse licking fraternity isn’t it , can you imagine that being us doing that , it’s as bent and corrupt as fuck
Whoever it was at City who agreed to accept the money from Liverpool and close the matter was either unbelievably naive or absolutely stupid.

Probably the same fucking idiot who jumped in bed alongside the rags for the Super League, and who agreed to issue the joint message with Liverpool about fan behaviour.

It's got ex-Barcelona written all over it.

So.

Every season the PL audited our accounts for FFP purposes, etc.
And every season the PL were happy with our accounts and signed them off.
Not picking up on anything incorrect or suspicious.
Then 10 years later the PL, without warning, come up with a list of 101 irregularities in our accounts
if those irregularities exist in 2022, why didn’t they exist previously in every financial year when the PL checked our accounts?
And if they did, why didn’t the PL act on them at the time?

This is what I think.

I find it very hard to believe the FA is sitting on evidence of financial criminality by the club. It will be like at UEFA, no case to answer on the financial side or a warning about some misdeanor but a big fine for not co-operating.
Decent point argyle. Possibly If the FA were sat on strong evidence of misdoings it would be passed to the relevant authorities who would lead the investigation. The FA would pick up the pieces when the authorities had finished.

I really struggle to watch parts of that with Sam fucking Lee spouting sensationilsed bollocks and Carragher claiming we only didn’t get a uefa ban cause the charges were time barred. Pricks. Good on two sips for fighting our corner, must be so frustrating having to work in those circles.

Sam Lee is not only a **** but he’s an ugly ****!

Even more so when you look at the reputation of the likes of Khaldoon on the world stage. He's one of the most influential businessmen on the planet.

Can you imagine the ramifications in Abu Dhabi etc if the claims are true. It seems so beyond the pale to be misleading auditors when you're such a large figure on the international stage.

The comments under the article show the intelligence of the average reader.
It is interesting that the PL claim they didn't brief the media but the Times had a detailed story prepared in advance and ready to go. I believe Martin Ziegler was tipped off in advance...just as his colleague was briefed in advance of the UEFA ban announcement. If I was a betting man I would say yesterday's leak came from the same source as the UEFA leak which didn't come from UEFA directly but from a third party. I think this is significant because it shows that the PL, like UEFA, is acting in bad faith. This may help City in the long-run.

I saw a video of that cock saying to a City fan who had phoned in we weren't exonorated by CAS but escaped on the time limit technicality.
