    Neymar

I have to agree that marketing played a huge role in Barca's signing of Neymar. He doesn't really fit a need for Barca, and I don't think he suits the tiki-taka style of football either. He strikes me as a player who is concerned with using his skillful dribbling to create chances for himself...

    Benat

The name doesn't matter...call it whatever you want, mate. Either way, a player who can control the tempo of the game and pick out long balls that create chances would greatly improve our team. I don't know about you, but seeing us draw to overly defensive teams (West Ham, QPR, Stoke) really...

    The Relegated Escape List

Granero is the main one I think we should consider. We need a deep-lying playmaker, and Granero could be signed for a fairly cheap transfer fee. Remy, Taarabt, Cesar, Samba, and a few others will most likely be playing for top-division teams (maybe not in the Prem, but somewhere), but I don't...

    Luis Muriel

We shouldn't be going for a young striker who isn't at the top level yet. I think we need a proven, world-class striker like Cavani. Muriel will probably become a quality footballer in the future, but we have Guidetti as our young striker developing.

    Benat

I disagree. I'd personally love to have a player who uses his creativity to create chances against teams that play overly defensive football like Stoke City. Benat's passing would give our strikers more chances to score than a more powerful player's physical presence.

    Gareth Bale

Feel free to watch this video about Gareth Bale and if he is fairly rated. I found it to be very informative. The lad makes some very valid points, and it certainly changed my mind on Gareth Bale. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNdbYWf9YUo ...Where's the sarcasm button?

Man city have first refusal on Jovetic

I remember watching Jovetic vs. Inter and thinking "We need this lad at City". Sign him up.

    Mikel Arteta

I say no because of his age. He completes an awful lot of passes, and his defensive stats are pretty impressive considering he isn't a natural DM. While we do need more creativity from deeper, signing a 30-year old really isn't a good idea. I think we'd be better off getting a younger...

if you could sign 1 winger in the summer

Is this thread asking for a traditional winger who will put in crosses and stay wide, or is it asking for a modern/inverted winger? I personally think we should go for the second option. Here are my suggestions since you said no Bale. Di Maria Lamela El Shaarawy James Rodriguez Reus

    Gareth Bale

Bale is doing a damn good job of making the people who say "He's nothing but pace" look like idiots.

    Leandro damiao

He'd cost 20 million, and I'm not sure he's worth it. Brazilian attackers' always get their stats inflated by state championship games. He only had 7 goals in 19 games in the Brazilian League last year, and that makes me very skeptical about this lad. He has shown that he has talent, but he...

    El Shaarawy and City

You have a good point, and I agree that Neymar has shown everyone that he is very skillful, tricky, and talented. I'm just not convinced that his playing style would translate over into the English game as well as it could in Liga BBVA. The thought of our club spending that much money on...

    El Shaarawy and City

Where are you getting that from lol? I never said we should buy mediocre players. I'd like to see us address our needs eg. deep-lying playmaker. We may need to sign multiple useful players in order to do this. Do you have a different plan in order to do this?

    El Shaarawy and City

I find it hilarious how people who are saying "OMG YUSH!!! NEYMAR'S WORLD CLASS OMG <3" in the Neymar thread respond to the notion (probably not even true) of us bidding on a player in a big league who has scored 15 goals in 24 games from primarily a left-sided role in such a negative way. It's...

    Neymar

I feel like the people who kiss Neymar's ass are basing their opinions of him off of Youtube videos. I think the people who are bashing Neymar are basing their opinions of him off of his game vs England today. Correct me if I'm wrong, but most of you (me included) don't really watch Santos or...

    Benat

He could come on for a DM if we're having trouble breaking down a team that parks the bus. He has the creativity and the vision to feed our attacking players in these situations. I would also like to see us try a 4-3-3 like this: Hart Zabaleta-Kompany-Nastasic-Clichy Javi Garcia Benat-Yaya...

    Benat

The lack of links to Benat recently worries me. We could really use a deep-lying playmaker, and here's a damn good opportunity to sign a great one. I really hope there is some negotiation going on that the media does not know about between us and Real Betis. Benat would give us something we...

    Aaron Lennon

He was impressive vs. the rags on Sunday and in a few other Spurs games I've watched this season. Tottenham's chairman would probably ask for a lot of money if we want him though. The thing about Lennon is that he isn't much of a goal threat. Mancini doesn't like traditional wingers, and we...

If you could only sign players of 1 nationality...

Right now, I'd choose Spanish players. Benat and Isco would be so great here. Argentina would be a great choice too.

    Benat

We don't have a deep-lying playmaker in our squad, and I suspect that Benat could very well be the missing piece in this puzzle to unlock defenses. Anyways, more creativity certainly won't hurt our team going forward. People have been calling him the new Xabi Alonso due to his long passing and...
