I'm not convinced. Route one hoofball is fine for the perennial mid-table clubs, because they are content just to be in the Prem, and their chairmen are content as long as gate receipts are healthy. This isn't the case with the rags. They are a 'Hollywood' club, all glitz and glamour. They have to be in the limelight, paparazzi chasing after them all the time, having the club name splashed over every tabloid in the world. Pogba and others like him are are there to promote an image, maintain the hype and the myth for their followers in the far east. And just like their 'Tinsel Town' counterparts they're as fake as Katie Price's mammary glands.
Peg will do what he's always done, send his team out not to lose. They will once again have so many 0-0 draws that winning the Prem will be impossible for them. For my money any one who finishes above us will be the champions. And that certainly won't be the rags.
United have always played route one hoofball. The entirety of their Ferguson era consisted of Scholes and Keane crippling the opposition without repercussion, then knocking it out wide for Giggs and Beckham to twat it in the box 500 times a game till the ball bounced in off Cole/Yorke/Van Nistelrooy etc. and then Scholes, Rooney or Ronaldo would twat a couple in from 30 yards against the likes of Portsmouth at the Swamp and be hailed geniuses and exhilarating. And if all that failed, they'd have the ref bought and win anyway.
Nothing's changed except everyone else has got better and nicked the better players with more ambition away from them. They'd never get a sniff at Ronaldo today.
