I'm not convinced. Route one hoofball is fine for the perennial mid-table clubs, because they are content just to be in the Prem, and their chairmen are content as long as gate receipts are healthy. This isn't the case with the rags. They are a 'Hollywood' club, all glitz and glamour. They have to be in the limelight, paparazzi chasing after them all the time, having the club name splashed over every tabloid in the world. Pogba and others like him are are there to promote an image, maintain the hype and the myth for their followers in the far east. And just like their 'Tinsel Town' counterparts they're as fake as Katie Price's mammary glands.

Peg will do what he's always done, send his team out not to lose. They will once again have so many 0-0 draws that winning the Prem will be impossible for them. For my money any one who finishes above us will be the champions. And that certainly won't be the rags.

United have always played route one hoofball. The entirety of their Ferguson era consisted of Scholes and Keane crippling the opposition without repercussion, then knocking it out wide for Giggs and Beckham to twat it in the box 500 times a game till the ball bounced in off Cole/Yorke/Van Nistelrooy etc. and then Scholes, Rooney or Ronaldo would twat a couple in from 30 yards against the likes of Portsmouth at the Swamp and be hailed geniuses and exhilarating. And if all that failed, they'd have the ref bought and win anyway.

Nothing's changed except everyone else has got better and nicked the better players with more ambition away from them. They'd never get a sniff at Ronaldo today.

Exactly.

Rags have lost big nose and replaced him with a goal scoring donkey. He is a good player that will probably score 20 goals for them but for me he's not world class and never will be. Watched him many times and would be shocked if he becomes a top 5 striker in the world.

Lindelof, I know nothing about but do they need him I was surprised by this signing especially at that fee. Even if they get Dier/Matic and Perišić, I wouldn't exactly call it a major improvement.

As for the myth of being more used to PEG's hoof ball tactics, im not buying it.

Once the begin to draw and lose some games the pressure will be on, and memories of the 6th place finish will rekindle.

They will get the easiest group possible in the CL, another easy draw in the round of 16, but unfortunately for them they can't play a bunch of nobody teams on their way to the final like they did in the Europa league, so they will get eliminated at the first decent test.

As for the PL, rags will be in a fight for top 4 and IMO they'll miss out again. Let's not forget that they finished 6th only due to referee help, what was the swing of offside goals they scored and onside goals scored against them ruled off? I think it was something like 13 goals. With their signings and reported targets, I really dont see them doing too well. Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs will all further strengthen so it will be an interesting fight for top 4, rags can't handle the pressure anymore. Can't wait to see PEG get sacked again. Fortunately no top managers are available so their decline will continue. Wonderful to watch.

Some posters here fall for the media hype, reality is they are a busted flush trying to stay relevant.

Just saw this on Red Cafe:

"City are raising an interesting questiin, for me.

We've clearly got the same spending power that City have. However City seem to pay whatever it takes, while we're sticking to some sort of financial morals, for lack of a better phrase. We seem keen to do it on our terms while City are just meeting selling clubs valuations.

With City you get the feeling if they wanted Perisic, they would've paid the €50m or whatever Inter wanted.

Which do you prefer? Pay whatever it takes or have your own valuation and pretty much stick to that?"

United 'sticking to financial morals' nearly had me spitting my Peroni out!
And here's me thinking that they have sold a player for more than we ever have and also bought players for more than we ever have..

They're so far up their own arses they can actually kiss themselves goodnight.

We already witnessed how blatant the FA/PGMOL were prepared to be in order to assist them in their return to relevance last season. Don't underestimate how important is for UEFA/FIFA to have the Rag's back at the top table of world football. Like it or not, they are a big money brand, and money talks in world football. Watch this space in the CL.

players wise, they looked much more threat when they got Falcao with rvp and rooney still not far away of their best times. that failed miserably. last year they were also considered one of the title favorites, failed miserably. I don't think anyone is more suited to play forward game than Ibrahimovic. He is best striker of the generation in any system. It's only if Josephina finds some of her best managing again that could make them strong pretenders, he can make team to be hard to beat and tbh they had lot of games last season that they should have really won with what they showed on the pitch. Could they add more goals to their game this season? I'm not really sure. So far I see them being worse in attack, not better. Anyway, they might be around for some time but I don't think they have a team who could be there on top in May. Top 4 though is achievable but it will be hard for any team out there, the competition on the top is big and tight.

Of course. I have looked at their groups in the CL and they've always had easy groups, while we had groups of death on more than one occasions. The fixing is obvious.

I'm sure they'll get the easy route again but no way are they getting past the quarters even with ref help. They will eventually have to face a top top team.

Write them off at your peril. They will be tough to beat and have a goal scoring threat now. Add to the that the sycophantic refereeing and although I don't see them seriously challenging I think they'll be up there and will make top 4.

look at this gem...from the Which club has the most pressure on them to win the PL next season on rag caff
Us because we're born champions and have spent a good amount over the last two summers on quality players.
no pressure there then !

Had a look on redcafe and couple of them claiming Kompany is over rated. Pisses me off when fans pass judgements on players they very rarely watch 90mins of week in week out. When Kompany is fit there is none his equal.

I"m surprised at the degree of their vitirol at your signings even for piss takes. I don't get it, it's not like they're not spending either. I mean everyone is spending now, so that's a weird type of attack, as is claiming Guardiola is a chequebook manager, when Mourinho (Porto aside) has always spent the most wherever he was.

I agree with all of that but the addition of Lukaku gives them that ability to turn a lot of those 0-0's into 1-0's in their favour. He is a very good forward and perfect for PEG.

They have lost about 35 league goals by getting rid of big nose and wooney add to that they was about 20 goals down on the champions, so unless you're saying loulou is gonna score upwards of 60 league goals they don't have a chance of the title

Boriniho is banking on letting in less goals and winning 1 nil with hoof and a goal.

he will improve there all around play....big nose is f**king lazy. and immobile (and vastly overrated)....lukaku aint......and Ibra didnt score anywhere near 35 goals in the league last year.....
Rooney was shit last year ...they have rashford who is decent and a good finisher as well......Utd will play ugly shit football but it will be to their strengths.....they will get a load of 1-0's ....to them it doesn't matter how you get the 3 pts as long as they get it....

he will get better.....the lad is a decent player....just cause he plays for them doesn't mean you cant acknowledge it...

Like i said they don't have to score that many as they wont let many in....i expect a lot of 1-0's especially away from home...they are decent defensively

You seem to have a big love in for all things rag related don't you and When did u say big nose scored 35 league goals. loulou is the one that's overrated with a first touch that makes dezko look like maradonna and rashford is ok but won't score more than 10
