That’s basically it mate,too many nice guys who aren’t savvy in pressure games look at Madrid when the penalty was scored started breaking the game up,which we should have done when it got too the 80 min or so foul,fake injuries waste time it’s not nice but we need to start doing this more run the fucking clock down ..

He’s brilliant with his footwork and he is good at making himself big, but he is not agile and gets beaten fairly easily by shots further away from his body.
He is also susceptible to brain farts, Although he hasn’t done this very recently, thankfully!
have to say that he is starting to worry me a bit. Not half as much though as our backup goalie though!
 
So gutted and devastated but some things are just written in the stars like fate. This was probably one of them. You can't explain how else this happens. Football is just cruel sometimes. An inch or so the other way and those shots from freakish today or the one from riyadh goes in.

Hopefully the guys aren't too down and can use this as fuel to win the prem like they did after the Tottenham disaster.
 
The best side didn’t win over two legs it’s that simple. Anyone that spouts nonsense after the event is kidding themselves as nobody calls that result on 90 mins .
sometimes you just have to suck it up when luck goes against you , never forget 93:20 and that mob dropping 8 points when they had won it .
Toon is a tough game now so stop the blame game and get behind the lads on Sunday
 
not beating Liverpool in the league, when they were there for taking. it might cost us the whole PL title.

not beating Real at home by 3-4 goals difference, when they were there for taking.

being 1-0 up at 89th minute in Bernabeu and crashing out of CL with 3-1 minutes later.

there is an issue here.

also 46th minute goal from Pool in league, also today second half first few seconds they create a huge chance, we were still asleep and in the dressing room.

I was actually thinking it was a very Athletico type of performance and we were fully concentrating on keeping them out.
Our problems started once we scored, concentration levels dropped as we thought we were through and the rest is history.

As daft as this sounds, I think had Mahrez not scored we'd have been in the final.

if it had been the final I’d have never got over it. But it wasn’t.. it was to get to a final to play UEFA’s favourite pet where we’d probably have been done over by the officials and had to spend the best part of 3 days in the company of the worst vermin in England, whilst paying the best part of £2k for the privilege

give me the league right now and it’s been a great season achieved with no striker on the pitch

Agree with both comments. So good at times..5 goals v Real Madrid never would have thought that...Swindon away..just random example. I know we are not 'that' now but its still the team many of us suffered with at times but stuck by them all the same. Bit of perspective needed for me tonight.

I agree he did nothing in extra time, but not did anyone. Once it went to extra time in the manor it did the tie was already over. The point is that it should have never, ever, ever, ever gone to extra time. And the fact it did has nothing to do with Pep or subs.. it was a collective bottle job.


Put it this way at 88 mins there was not one mention of “stupid subs” or “Pep mistakes” on the match day forum, as it was completely inconceivable that we were not going to the final. Funny that..

Indeed and let’s not forget midfield and defence, the latter being where we lost it tonight! Defence particularly seems to be a bigger issue for us, as we are scoring goals!

Joe did fade badly and his technical weaknesses were mercilessly exploited. But...

On more than one occasion Joe actually won us games or kept us in games we could have been blown away in.

As a pure goalkeeper I don't think Eddy is that good. But I suppose we have to accept the compromise of him basically having to be as good as an outfield player with the ball at his feet.

Most of the time the balance works in our favour... occassionally not.

I'm not blaming Eddy for tonight, its more a general observation.

Oh do fuck off soft lad I've been supporting us since 1968. I'm stabbing nobody, nor am I placing the blame all on him. He dies make the odd decent save but he also dithers on crosses and let's in some very saveable shots.
