PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Of a similar opinion. Personally I’m against the 3 year 105m. I think it should be zero. But I also think investment rules should be loosened. So clubs can be gifted money from owners. Basically allow investment but not debt. The funding for player transfers and player wages in place ahead of any transfer.
The obvious problem with the idea is with smaller clubs on month to month finances.
But it would force clubs to operate within their means.

The spiralling costs of transfers wages will shrink the footballing pyramid because it's becoming unsustainable, when you see championship sides pushing the envelope now too it's only a matter of time.

Right here and right now I have NO affinity or feeling for any player we have because they are distant and are going to become more distant.

Bernardo is probably the closest we have to someone you could relate to.

This thread is starting to go down blind alleys. The 115 case will not be challenging the legality of FFP so that’s a non starter.

And why would anybody think everybody else is spending big except City - is due to City being able to spend big again ?? Yet we are still well down on net spend table.

The truth is City’s decline makes it a lot easier for other clubs to win things - and fair play to them they are going for it. Chelsea’s transfer activity over the past 2 years is also a game changer and forced others to invest.

As legal experts have stated many times - it will take as long as it takes for a verdict. If we are cleared there will be 19 angry clubs and an even angrier public. If we are guilty then the cost to the club / loss of value if relegated and potential further legal action could be eye watering - so it’s obvious they will take their time before their decision is released.

You may be right. Or you may not be. Nobody knows.

But I still feel that the longer it goes on, the greater the chance that something is going on that we don't know about for the reasons I described earlier.

And with the greatest of respect to the legal people on here, the accepted wisdom was that it would be very difficult to get a successful outcome to the APT case. In the end it was relatively "easy" given what we know now about the treatment of interest on shareholder loans.

The people handling these cases for the club are, again with the greatest of respect to everyone, much smarter in their particular field than you or me, or anyone else on this forum. Who knows what may be going on?

There is deffo stuff going on we or anyone else don't know about, it's obvious now or there would of been a decision in our case now.
So for me this only points in one direction, it's good news for us and there's a deal been worked out where basically the Premier league don't look like "cunts".

Me personally don't see any other decision now or this would of been done and dusted
Which begs the question of whether hammering the PL into total legal submission is actually in the business interests of City.
To destroy the vehicle is presumably not the objective but simply to ensure it's rules are legal and fairly applied.
Regarding personalities I'm sure our owners will find ways to sort them out away from PL matters.

I'd also add that, if the decision had dropped, and the situation you describe did exist, it would be so sensitive, the last thing I'd do is tell someone who will go onto national radio and make it general knowledge. The ensuing media frenzy would make any kind of situation management almost impossible.

Massively relax PL PSR focussing on sustainability, and settle for conforming with UEFA financial rules seems sensible and simple.

Although I can see UEFA twigging and their rules tightening.

Let’s the clubs that aren’t in Europe level up.
I don't know why the PL didn't just opt for this in the first place. They already monitor FFP for clubs in Europe anyway. Or maybe I do know.

Probably because no FFP/PSR for clubs outside EUFA spots allows them to spend and improve. Something most of the qualifying clubs don't want

Spot on. Although I’d argue that would be at 20 angry clubs. Plus maybe some relegated clubs may be angry too.

We’re all guessing, and even people who are well-informed could be making assumptions that are wholly wrong or irrelevant considerations. That’s perfectly possible when there’s such a deficit of any meaningful news.

All anyone can do is call it as they see it. And it means fuck all in the grand scheme of things if people call that right, or get it wrong. If I’ve called this wrong then I’ll have think why, but it won’t especially bother me. I’ll be far more bothered about the result, than my powers of prediction, when it’s pretty much been based on guesswork.

The absence of any leaks is pretty mental actually. Not a single commercial lawyer I know has heard a thing. Or at least that’s what they’ve told me!
It’s like the 3 judges have been entombed somewhere secret,no friends,no pubs,no restaurants,no country clubs,no golf,no tennis,no contact with wives or children who MIGHT have heard something across the dining table……just fucking RADIO SILENCE……

It does make you think doesn’t it;)

More you watch this new season the more I’m convinced we’ve been cleared. Why? Because they are now using VAR more & more to give the red cartel the points. It’s becoming embarrassing but this is one area we can’t contest as a club.
We definitely don’t get the same decisions. Shirt pulls on our forwards are dismissed. Standing on our forwards foot in the box - not given.

It stinks

You're giving the PL too much credit, they haven't a clue what they're doing.
